US top series "Heroes" has an NRI (respectively US citizen with Indian roots) in a central and positive role. Is the series popular with Indians?

I saw the first season on DVD - it was great to begin with ... that Indian guy's accent changed from Indian to British after the first couple of episodes

I couldn't stomach it by the end of season 1 as it got a bit stupid. I haven't yet bothered with season 2 but may rent it if I have a quiet weekend once the box-set comes out.

I know a lot of folks where I live (mostly non-Indian - I don't really know many Indian people!) are really in to it and over look the plot holes every week ... probably like me with Indian movies!

I saw some of Heroes and didn't particularly care for it. Give Hiro his own show and get rid of a bunch of the other characters.

I call Mohinder Suresh "Sayid-Lite" (though Sayid is technically Iraqi :) )

Love the series. Great stuff. The HD is unfortunately often sharpened a lot. Gives it a harsh video look.

Heroes, season one was decent but a disappointing finale. Season two was utter trash, lost all interest - I guess the writers lost interest too and tried to end the current story mid-season. Probably still end up watching it when it returns to see if it gets any better.

Another US series I watched recently was Dexter – that was excellent both seasons. Looking forward to S3 :D

I have the exact opposite feelings as Ali...I felt it was too much of a cross between Marvel and LOST during season 01, but I liked season 02 a lot better.

Senthil (Mohinder) is from texas, and his character isn't convincing, cause he is supposedly an intelligent scientist, but lacks social skills and is naive to society in general?!? He doesn't believe in "God" yet he believes individuals can't "play God". Thank goodness for LOST :)

also, i'm tired of the token indian characters/actors in all these new shows. but it is well suited for heroes and LOST, although in LOST, they should've really casted a middle eastern actor.

So how is this a contradiction?

although one can say he is merely using the idea of God, since he feels strongly against "God", and he is a man of science, a better statement would include "law" in place of "God".
