Gaurang Doshi to compensate distributors for Deewaar's losses

Admitting that his latest movie 'Deewaar' hasn't done well at the box-office and made its distributors suffer losses, producer Gaurang Doshi has decided to compensate his distributors. He has sold the satellite rights of 'Deewaar' to Zee and the film would be premiered on Zee on 15th August.

As per the rules, producers are not allowed to sell the satellite rights of their films within six months of theatrical release without consent of the distributors. Before taking this step Gaurang consulted the distributors of 'Deewaar'. Not only that, he also ensured them that they would be compensated with the money he is able to rise with the premiere of the film to make up for their losses. A rare gesture indeed!

Personally, I think "Dev" was robbed of the "Best Film of 2004" award (at every awards ceremony held in 2005). Actually, every such ceremony was just a joke, showering "Veer-Zaara" and Shah Rukh Khan with award after award after award after... It was ridiculous. "Veer-Zaara"'s not a bad film, but it's far from "Best of" anything; certainly it's not one of Yash Chopra's greater works, and, CERTAINLY, it's not "superior" to "Dev."
