I too don't remember my first movie at all but my first memory of going to the theater to watch a movie is Sholay in 1975.

Satyam Shivam Sunderam is the first movie I can remember, I remember my parents seeing it on the big screen, and also remember seeing it on Betamax in the late 70s at someone's house. They were the first people we knew with a VCR.

I heard that this film was actually a re-make of a Tamil Movie (Sigappu Rojakkal with Kamal Hassan). It's the same director and Rajesh Khanna insisted on playing the main character of a woman-hating psychopath. Very disturbing, as the story unfolds and his story/motivations are discovered. A lot of strange imagary too. And how can anyone forget the scene where he punches a guy to death in a latrine because he won't stop blackmailing him.

The viewer finds themselves being quite sympathetic towards the character's compulsions. I think the style is very loosely based/inspired by the english movie "Peeping Tom".

My first memory and the first film I saw in the cinema was Pakeezah ... I was about 3 years old and I can clearly remember the 'Thare Rahiyo' song. Apprently after watching this movie I announced to my parents that I wanted to marry Meena Kumari ... and failing that I expressed an interest in Lata Mangeshkar! :oops:

First sung by Vyjantimala and then Plagiarized by Kishore Kumar (after which the set in which he dances, catches fire) :D

Much later, this songy was part of a parody.. picturized on Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna and Juhi Chawla with the same name "Eena Meena Deeka"

My first film at the cinemas was the one and only SPIDERMAN, the one released in the 1980s. Now its the character that I would watch over and over again. What a pleasure to watch his adventures 20 yeras later. WOW!!! Cinema is magic!!!

My wife keeps on talking about a live action Spiderman movie that she saw in the cinema years ago. I searched for it on IMDB but couldn't find anything about it!!!
