PhpBB doesn't not have very effective Search Engine Implemented in it. It doesn't give Perfect Matching Results.

Well, yesterday I tried to find the old topics through this search-thing, but couldn't find anything. I even tried to find the Baghban topic, which is on the first page, but even that it could not find. Today I does find something, but only recent topics. I think it doesn't work as it should. It still cannot find old topics. :cry:

Hi Ali,

1) Search engine doesn't give any results from posts posted before the recent changeover.

2) If we go to the old forums, that search engine works fine but is limited to old forums only (of course).

BTW, Arsh, urbanlegend, et. al. all have found the same.

Re-building the search tables, should take another hour or so. Searching will be much better afterwards.

Search function is working fine, but despite spending some time searching for thaose Taal comparison shots, couldn't find any thing other than the thread I already found and posted in one of the recent Taal threads. That thread had some comparison shots. May be thats all there was??

Half a decade later :oops: - did a re-indexing of the search engine inc applying a missing subject topic fix which wasn't working before. For example searching for "Khel" didn't bring up the Khel Khel Mein - DEI/BEI DVD topic before, but it does now. Hopefully similar missing topics will come up when searching by topic title.
