Don't know about the raid, but on my trip to India I saw a few thiruttu (pirate) VCDs a relative had that were made from Ayngaran DVDs. One or two of them were labeled as a less popular film, possibly to hide the fact that the VCD was really Ghilli :D

Also, TONS of pirate mp3 CDs. Films and songs were even being shown on many buses in TN, which I'm sure is illegal!
