there's a shop near malton (airport area) which one of my buddies showed me that sold ORIGINAL DVDS for $6!!!!!

there were a couple of pirates in the batch (they say made in calcutta, india :) - as an example: asoka, aks, and lagaan), but those were easy to spot, and well you just don't buy them...

anyways, as an example, some of the ones that i bought were the anamorphic versions of DTPH and KKHH (to replace my pirates)....they have all the holograms, etc, all the bonus features, and they are the EXACT covers shown on the YR site - in other words, they're real real real....

there was a fairly limited selection (`100 dif titles), but there were good titles...

so hows it possible?

btw, plus there was a never-before-seen-for-me 2 in 1 pirate of the hero+kaante...both were the same picture quality as the original pirates...<- not that i bought it tho :)

so if you haven't seem them (tho i had) you might want them....??

I have come across some of the Yash Raj pirated DVDs.
I was able to find out some differences although they look exactly same with hollogram.

1. The artwork on the cover and the disc looks slightly grainy.
2. The disks were not having gold media - Till now I have seen all the orignal Yash Raj dvds on gold media.
3. In Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai and Jagte Raho dvds, the extra features were missing.

i phoned this video shop and he said he was selling kkhh and dtph anamorphic for 23 canadian and k3g 2dvd set for 27cdn i went and look it had that hilogram but for some reason i thought it was pirated from every video store in surrey, vncouver, burnaby, coquitlum, langly, abosferd, richmond etc he has the lowest price could it be original ???
btw, i hope yrf start using that thing that they used with mdk at the back to identify a pirate/original because when i went to a store to buy iy the day it came out this person gave me a pirate and was charging me orig price i checked that thing befor i left and it didnt have it so i returned it and than i got the orig one .....

How is this possible??

What do we get when exact same encoding is avail for $ 30 officially and for $ 6, perhaps a dupe??

Could it be a blessed dupe??

Could it be on cheap media and it may or may not stop playing after a few weeks or months??]

What's the guarantee that the official expensive DVDs are on good media and will last long time??

What's the likelyhood of getting proper Film to NTSC encoding in official expensive discs and in cheap discs??

May be these DVD production is mushrooming in every other kitchen where they replicate discs by paying some royalty??

How do we know what to buy and what not to buy??

Try looking at where the serial number is on the reverse of the disc on the inner circle.

If you see no serial or serial number scratched then you know.

btw, it has serial number and everything...that's what has me confused - and for a dupe, its done extremely extremely well...

Which store in Malton? Some of these dupes are pretty good. I'm going there next week, I wouldn't mind picking up the anamorphic DTPH and k3g 2 disc set to update my collection.

There are 2 plazas opposite Majeed. One has Sweet India, Apollo Video, etc and the other has a large clothing store and a few smaller stores. Does that help refresh your memory? Like was it at the edge of a plaza or in the middle?
