i recently placed an order from retailer "X" and ordered 6 titles that of which 4 were DEI/Eros releases!! now ive recieved my order and ive got a dodgy feeling that the Eros/DEI are dodgy pirate copies.......

I had

Aatish (eros/dei)
Dariya Dil (eros/dei)
Zamana Deewana (dei/eros)
Gumrah (eros/dei)

The packaging was dodgy and was half unwrapped!! The covers were cheap as well!! the art wokr on the cover wasnt as spectacular as they shudve been!! even though the audio and video was normal DEI standard... it is shit to see that quality DVDs are being replicated!! and the quality of the materials are shite...!!

I dont really wanna name the site as it is quite respectable on zulm until i know for sure that the shit ive got is dodgy!! wat shall i do... shall i name and shame!!

I’ve had few people email me about concerns of DEI/Eros DVD being sold by Indiaweekly, Indiancdstore and even DEI themselves - who say they are replicating DEI/Eros discs (and other Eros titles) and selling them cheap. That’s only from people seeing these cheapo type covers (faded colours etc) – referred to as so called ‘pirates’. Since this industry survives on doing this shit, I say just get them cheap while you can and let these companies stab each other in back – it’s not like that they give a shit, so I don’t see why the consumer should either.

I have just recieved my order from indiaweekly of 4 dvds and I am pretty sure that Dil to Pagal hai is a dodgy pirate, the printing on the cover as well as print on the dvd is crap. I know this dvd is going back to indiaweekly.

I hope some from indiaweekly is reading my mail , because I took to one retailer and a very good friend who is main distributor of Yash Raj movies .He looked at it and said to me did you get for 5 quid. and also accused me for promoting piracy. Where as a matter of fact I have paid a full price for it i.e $17 for it. I have already mailed Afzal and waiting for reply.

indiaweekly is not too bad when it comes to buying newer released but since the older Eros/DEI movies have become scarce, people have been knocking them out in the thousands in some back alley replecating them!! Even though the quality of the picture and sound is there i still cant justifying paying 7+ quid for a replicated DVD that has got shit covers.... even though indian DVD covers are shit but shit takes the pisss..... its very sad that indian movies are suffering like this.. all i can say is the days are numbered for DVD movies for bollywood if shit like this happens!! the site that i actually purchased these from is indiancdstore...! i know we all have the "f*** em, let em die" belief on the indian DVD priducers but its sad to see great movies being ruined by pathetic fat cat sonofabitches sat there in some dodgy back street knocking these DVDs in the thousands im staying clear of indiancdstore now!!

Faddy when was the order placed and when did u receive it - i am awaiting dvds from this site - they said to me by email that an order takes 14-21 days - i had a delivery within 7days once.

i ordered these dvds last friday and they were delievered this saturday!! took 8 days in total!!

as for scans of the covers... i will do, but my scanner is knackared... so u`ll have to wait!!

faddy i happen to have the proper genuine dvds for aatish DEI and Dariya Dil DEI And till yesterday i had Gumrah untile sume geezer bought it ....so if u wanna have a quick look at mines to make sure yours are not replicas....feel free to come an do so at no cost to yourself except for juice to drive over to my end

Indiaweekly, as far as I know doesnt sell any PIRATED DVDs, which they manufactire themselves. Your post was very much obvious but what were you really insinuating about ? We all know that the DEi-EROS titles are extinct and they can in no reasonable manner be avialable for sale anywhere, except at 2 places..

For getting an exact replication you need some stuff, the original artwork and the original master (which is then copied onto all the DVds)... I dont think IW or ICDs or any other online retailer comes in the picture here. I can speculate two things here though :-

1.) Someone from DEI may be clandestiningly doing this operation

2.) Someone from DEI and EROS may be doing this.

Maybe this will help folks to realize how cheap it is to make a DVD and how much profits these greedy BASTARDS rake in

I have no sumpathy, again, for the wankas at EROS for their loss of revenue and I hope these copies are made for a long time to come. I have not a wee bit of sympathy for EROS and hope they rot in hell..


Now MSABRI, FYI, I also purchased my DVD of that Yasraj film from Indiaweekly and I can tell you it is very much a genuine copy. If you have issues abt that please call up Afzal and I am sure he can give you a replacement. I would suggest you dont jump the gun and accuse IW of selling Pirated DVDs ( esp Yashraj ) as I dont think they have much to gain from selling "pirated" DVds and lots to lose infact !

Guys I'm here in USA,At times it has taken upto 10-12 days for me to get my order from Iweekly. My last order from Iweekly was shipped on 1/27,still waiting. I did order Umrao Jaan from Indiancd which I received within 5 days of placing my order. So far all the DVD's ordered appear to be original from both online stores. It seems delay in USA is on the part of the carrier.

Just like you, I thought the DEI/Eros DVD’s I brought from Indinacdstore.com are pirated from the look of the cover. But the quality is good, I mean comparable with other DEI/EROS titles I brought from Indiaweekly.com. I can’t say if both are pirated,
but nevertheless they are far superior to EROS and other crap out there.
I agree with sknath about Indiaweekly.com and I also think that it is difficult to create the pirated versions that cheap.

I never bother with cdstore, because India weekly are much cheaper.
