I too had similar experience with Indiaweekly recently. It took 11 days for my order to reached me and I had spend $8 on S & H and received DVD with broken spindle and cheap media mail. Couple of DVDs where without inlay card. ???

Only reason I shop with them is they have excellent price and 110% price-match.

I 'd ordered Fiza from them. It came well packaged.. When i opened the DVD, it was all in intact. Case is the same as the what most recent DEI DVD cases are. appeared to be used.

I bought many dvds online. so I thought i knew what scratches occur due to loose slot, and what indicates previewed DVD. Anyway, IW Cust Rep was nice and apologise for that and mentioned it was due to loose slot and will send out another copy preferbly scratchless dvd, with insert. so still waiting for that.

Just to let you all know, not only i couldn't help notice that their enveloped have dropped from padded to ordinary paper envelope, but their address on the parcel has changed. also i am getting personal responses from one particular individual. ;) looks like i am in their special list.. i just can't wait to place my next order with them!

Just to keep you folks updated...

I finally got the mail with fiza replacement, But haven't picked it up from the post office yet. From the outside, i see they were nice to send me the replacement dvd and oneother dvd that i requested in an padded envelope.

They even paid $$ for priority, when i usually use regular media mail for cheapness. They even refunded by return shipping But dont know how much they charged me for the additional dvd+shipping. They managed to misdeclare the content and the price for the package. And because of that, i am charge $8.51 duty charge. I will pay this. Not going to use the word policy, but i have been refunded some custom charges in the past. I am not sure whether it was related to the volume of DVDs that i ordered

I will niether ask for the refund of the duty charge nor will i even bother to contact them if the fiza dvd came used once again, or damaged. pardon me, but i dont F**IN care.

j*vi, the dvd came intact meaning, it wasn't loose. it didn't come in a case where ther is spindle to keep the dvd intacted. This case is what replicated dei dvds are seen to be using.

used .. cause this dvd has enormous amount of scracthes on the dvd... i have 100+ dvds, take my word (if you like) i know an used dvd when i see one...

Actually, I have a small comment of my own about my one and only order with Indiaweekly that I made way back in April. One of the dvds I ordered was the Mission Bollywood set. I think it was the second disc that I had a couple problems on. During the song from KNPH (ek pal ka jeena), halfway through the song, the player would pause (windvd), and i could hear the dvd being scanned, but it couldn't pass that point unless i manually forwarded it. If i did not forward within a few seconds it would skip to the next song. every time i play that disc on that song, same error. it also happened on another song from Astitva, which i can't remember which one it is (i think this one was on the first disc). The discs had and still have many tiny scratches.. some going from the inner ring outward (vertical), and some that seem to be going concentric (which i know is supposed to be bad). Obviously, one would assume a NEW dvd would not have these things, so I figured it was used, but I didn't bother with communicating back to IW about it. This is not why, of course, that I stopped shopping there. It has to do with their expensive shipping costs (outside of US/UK) to the caribbean (10 bucks per order, 2 bucks per dvd!), and the fact it took 5 goddamn weeks just to get my order. Now, back to the topic of scratches. One of my 2-in-1 from pakweb, the one with MDK/NTJNH.. while watching NTJNH, i noticed there were several times, all at a similar point in the movie, where there would be a pause, and i could hear the dvd rom scanning abit, but then the movie would keep playing. this happened a few times during one scene, but i didn't have to do anything as the movie just kept playing where it left off after a few seconds. i noticed there were several of those really small scratches on the disc. however, the dvd was in a plastic wrap, inside a foldout cardboard case, inside a cardboard sleeve. so i don't think it was used, but of course, how can any of us really be sure if a dvd is used? just because there is no shrinkwrap doesn't mean it's used, of course. i mean, if there are no MAJOR scratches, as shuman alluded to, then how can we really tell if it was used? but i wouldn't consider the NTJNH pauses as a defect, because the movie did keep playing, so no seconds were skipped. i also ordered MYKSH from pakweb, and this dvd unlike the others, was in a standard case, and it was loose, off the spindle. no scratches though (perhaps only really tiny minor ones which didn't affect disc playback at all). i can also say that benson's world and indiaplaza shipped their dvds in standard cases, and shrinkwrapped. hell, i think they smelled new as well! so those are my experiences with packaging, take from them what you will. later,

Hasan

My Mission Bollywood dvd does the same thing and this is a disk problem and exists with most batches of the Mission Bollywood dvd's.

Ganti, thanks for the clarification. By the way, as far as I can recall, the dvds I got from IW were not shrinkwrapped new, but they did have the inlay cards and stuff, if I'm not mistaken. I can't confirm because I always throw away those things, and just keep the disc. Don't know if the inlay cards make or break whether something is new, though.

Chebji,
Without shrink wrapped - it does not mean the DVD is used.
Once I received a title shrinkwrapped but no DVD inside and I immediately called IW and they sent me the title next day without shrinkwrapped just to make sure the DVD is inside. In my opinion mistake happend sometime with the manufacturers also. You know what, if a problem not submitted then how can you expect your problem will be resolved.

AAA, I didn't have any problem, really, with the discs that I got, as they worked fine. If I thought something was messed up, I would let them know. My problem with IW was the unforgivable amount of time it took to get my stuff (5 weeks), and the fact there are places out there with much quicker service/shipping, and free shipping to boot. So the way to voice my discontent with a store is to simply not buy from them again. Nothing says dissatisfaction like not buying from them again. :)
