I just placed an order from here, was wondering if any of you had ordered, and roughly how long the order takes to get to the UK?

I got a lot of movies from the 80s - stuff I grew up with, but not necessarily that good - that haven't had a good dvd release. Examples are Ghar Sansar, Waqt Ki Awaz, Vardi. In total I ordered nine vcds - but the shipping was pathetic - it came to Rs 1200. I went along with it because the cost of the VCDs comes to about £4 each, which is reasonable.

What are you thinking of ordering? Their site layout isn't very good - after searching, I found a couple of new movies,. like Makdee and Karz, but no new movie section overall.

thinking of getting Namkeen VCD..

karon weg salara tto ordek e rakhey nai... Running time on WEG's Namkeen is only 112 minutes where the movie is about 3 hours. and you are getting 'ghar sansar'.. is video sound print that bad that you want to stick with ultra vcd print..

i guess VCDs doesn't come with subtitles, or does it :oh:

IMO the Vcd's I bought when I was in India are of bad quality and the freeze. They are not worth it. I think I have one by Ultra I will check ( if I haven't thrown it away ).

Arre yaar, shub shub bolo!!!

I've got some VCDs from India as well, but I haven't had any problems with them. I guess it's pretty hit and miss, like Hindi DVDs.

bhaskar,
I need some help regarding ordering from them. I tried placing an order yesterday. I reached upto the page where trasecute (independent secured ordering services) page pops up. I did not know what to click from there. So I just closed the page thinking that my order has gone through. But it doesn't look like the order went through. When I tried to check order status, at the login screen, after my login, i am left staring at a blank page (what a horribly designed web site). I emailed them regarding my concerns and wanted them to verify that my order went through. But as expected, no word from them.
On top of it, I had tried ordering more than once and put items in my cart but backed out just when they asked to enter credit card info. I recevied an email with topic description as Pre-Online Order and it listed all the items I had put in cart along with the price.
Frankly speaking I don't know what's going on. To expect decent customer service would be too much I guess.

I agree that they're website is horrible - I can't figure a lot out about it. I'm not too sure about your problem - I had continue prompts all throughout the shopping process. One thing that I found really strange is the pre-online order e-mail. I got that before entering my card details, and after entering them, got the same e-mail again, this time called post online ordering!!!

I've e-mailed them about my order as well, I guess the best thing to do is wait for another couple of days.

Sorry I wasn't much help!!

Bhaskar,
Just wondering did you get a reply from them or your order from them coz I never got any reply from them. Makes me determined not to deal with them.

I got a reply from them - it said that they need 4-5 days to get the DVDs, and 10-12 days to ship to the UK. Have just e-mailed them again asking when it'll be shipped, will let you know if I got a response.

I replied to the mail they sent after I placed my order. The address I've been using is mailto:ultra@ultraindia.com. They also replied to my second mail, so maybe you should try that, see if you have any luck.
