This thread is basically to replace ongoing discussions scattered throughout. I am trying to find a good US based company to rent authentic Bollywood DVDs from. Please comment on the companies listed below as well as any others you are familiar with as the company I used to use (ZDag) is going out of business.

NETFLIX - Very good when available, but long wait times, and disk get damaged because of low stock/high usage. They don't get many in stock.

ZDAG - They were the best but are closing their doors. [Edit - they are not going out of business after all. These are the best I know of]

IndiaWeekly - I don't know much about them, but they "rent" button leads you to a link which says "coming soon." All rental options appear to be dead and many links do not work. They redirect you to another site (Panindia I think).

Seventymm - Don't know about these people at all.

Desicompany - Uses pirated DVDs.

Italkies - Apparently ceased renting DVDs earlier this year.

Indianmovieclub - Same as Desicompany. Uses pirated DVDs?

Indiahuthouse - Don't know about them, but it does appear that they don't have any new films from 2009. Why?

Anyone else? Please help us all out here with your comments or suggestions.

Good topic to start!!

ZDAG was the best indeed, followed by Netflix (short wait times)

Indiahuthouse - bad reviews with not shipping your rental.
Indianmovieclub - owned by desicompany, with a very flashy website. (No reviews found), but since they are the same company if one store is using pirated DVDs most likey the other is as well. (with out reviews cannot confirm).
Seventymm - haven't heard of them either.

We really need Bigflix (Reliance) to open up in the USA for Bollywood rentals.

Just heard from IndiaWeekly and they said:

"We are sorry to inform you that rental service has been discontinued."

Another Indian rental place gone.

Patrons pay about 10.00 to see a movie on the big screen but will not pay 4.00 to rent. They will buy a pirate for a buck

Are they authentic DVDs or pirated copies? How long does it take to get the DVDs? Have you dealt with customer service?

They customer service is very good. So far I have not noticed any DVDs to be pirated. Plus I got an email saying they are going to be carrying BLURAY DVDS next year. Only thing I found odd was they have a AOL email a1bollywood@aol.com when I asked them why they have aol they replyed saying some users were not getting their emails cause service and info@a1bollywood.com even sales@a1bollywood.com where going into their customers junk or spam folder. So they created an aol account that lets them send emails with out worrying if the customers got it. Besides that I have not had any problems with them.

I have a friend who gets his movies from this website, they send copies of the original Dvds. They take the original DVD9 and shrink it to DVD4.7 and send it to you.

So this would mean Netflix, Blockbuster, and BigFlix are all pirates?

The point or comment you made makes no sense..
