Nope Asif... have ordered it.. I think Arsh also has ordered it. He will have the screenshots ready..

If Saudagar is any indication, I would think it will be completely interlaced, cropped from the sides ... with false 5.1 audio !

Saudagar is according to rana sahab's terminology, pseudo prog, better than khkn, in my books!

sknath, I checked SAUDAGAR again and as I said before, every 5th field is a repeated field, making it Pseudo-prog.

But, there may be a problem that mhafner found that the 2-3 pull down sequence may not be available for both parts (chroma, luminance) of the picture signal.

Basically, every 5th field is a repeated field except for some color or hue related noise.

The picture is not field averaged, like in most of the current releases and also in Shemaroo's Chor Chor and Bullet.

Hmm Asif.. comparing apples with oranges... not a right thing to do...

Do you Know,... Naseer has gone on record berating SG for not having him and Dilip Kumar share the same screen space ?

I would say otherwise.. DK has a much restrianed performance.. without any histrioinics... whereas Naseer has his histrionics ... even till the last moment when he commits Hara Kiri

i agree with nasser statement i think both of them should have had more screen time they were the best thing in the film !!!

Well actually Karma was Dilip Kumar's film all the way... Jackie, Anil and the rest were just at best props... However Karma also heralded the arrival of Anupam Kher as a Villain to be reckoned with.

SG has forgotten film making which is why his films flop these days or are not worth remembering...

"Is Thappad ki gooj tumhein sunai de rahi hai Jailor" ? :)

Even in Saudagar, Dilip Kumar is more restrained than Raajkumar. DK is more effective when he gives those restrained performances. !

Saudagar was his last film that was worth remembering.. (evn though it was exactly similar to Saawan Kumar Tak's Sanam Bewafa which itself was a lift off from a Pakistani Play.. Haq Meher (or something like that)... ) Khalnayak was at best remembered for the controversy with the CKP song.. nothing else.

SG should seriously come back to his tried and tested formula... Karz, Hero, Meri Jung, Karma and Ram Lakhan were the real 80s blockbusters....
Vishwanath and Kalicharan were the ones from the 1970s.

I think Asif he has lost the knack to make good films (he has lost his creativity) and instead focussed himself on making moolah etc, just like the others. Its a real pity indeed...
Imagine a person like SG is promoting a film made by David Dhawan ! (Shame :fight: )

I agree, Karma was Dilip's film, and other memorable character was Kher as Dr. Dang ka thapad!! rest were just there to give extra oomph!

I have checked both KHKN...interlaced, field averaged for smooth viewing, Saudagar, if rana's criteris are right is pseudo prog! AND ON MY HDTV WITH PIONEER ELITE DV-47AI, THAT CAN WEAVE BACK FRAMES! SUCCESSFULLY!
Saudagar has way better picture than KHKN, I dont have TMS yet!..will compare!

Secondarily, Saudagar's sound is awful, with lot hissing/crackling, while khkn, is better in that regard...

Arsh, just a quick side topic, without going into detail in this thread:

How do you determine if your Pioneer Elite is Weaving the original frames back together or if it is just line doubling using the motion adaptive (I think, this is what is called BOB??) and/ or other techniques.
Is there a neon line indicator (indicating that it has recognized as Film Source) ?? Or, may be you can manually select what method (weave or bob) is to be used for line doubling.

Thanks.

Rana
