Moser Baer has launched dvds at Rs. 34 only in India -- they have titles such as Vaastav, Armaan, etc.

Quality? Would have to see...

Moser Baer has not done any additional cut/chop -- they have simply copied from existing source with Bombino.

Moser Baer continues to show logos of previous distributors on its cases -- like they still show Bombino on the Ghulami DVD case and they even mention "copyright held by Bombino"

I found a retailer near me who is selling Moserbaer DVDs for $5 Canadian. I picked up a couple of titles (didnt see 'Apne' though):

Naqaab
Khakee
Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai
Ghayal
Naam
Aathank Hi Aathank
Prem Aggan

They also had some other titles and will be getting more. The quality of the newer ones seems to ok for the price tag of $5 while the older titles range from so-so to pathetic. Didnt test the sound yet but majority come with 5.1 and 2 ch options for sound.

If shots required let me know, I will try to get some shots later on though if I have some time.

(where) they are copied from sources like Bombino/Captain but it clearly shows that on the case .. the 34rp DVDs have reached Canadian soil ..
BTW Naqaab is their own authoring like Apne was ..

I got myself the moserbaer / moser baer - bombino Muqaddar Ka Sikandar dvd. It may or may not be the same transfer as that on the bombino dvd.

The sound is POWERFUL during 5.1, though noisy at times.
2.0 is pretty pathetic with the audio "off centre"... panned a lil towards the left.

PQ looks like it's from a VHS. Do you think Moserbaer may be dishing out VHS transfers with digital 5.1 audio added? I've seen "tracking" on some moserbaer dvds, like Dacait.

I dont think there was a solo Bombino version released to my knowledge.

I think they have began to. I'm glad u pointed out the "tracking" part too. I have a few DVD's by moserbaer (mainly Indus re-releases) that u can certainly tell its a VHS transfer

APNE -- arguably MoserBaer's best DVD till date, is priced Rs.149/-, and so is the recent Dev.D.

MoserBaer has come out with a new Platinum Series Collector's Editions with titles such as:
Kati Patang, Howrah Bridge, Saaheb Biwi Aur Ghulam, Mr. And Mrs.55, Chaudvin Ka Chand, An Evening In Paris, Amar Prem and Aaradhana -- all Rs.99/- each. (Weren't these titles done by Ultra earlier?)
