Hi !
Today, after I placed my DDLJ + others order at IndiaWeekly, I got 2 confirmation mails (with a 3 second gap between them). The outstanding authorisations in my card have also gone up by twice the order amount. I have written to Afzal, but no response from him as yet.
The problem is, I stand to lose a lot even when refunded due to exchange rates as I pay in UK pounds( the order is around $100).
Has this happened to anyone before? or today? Any suggestions?

"outstanding authorisations"

fIRSTLY Ghayal,
This haven't happen to me with IW. But if you want my two cents suggestions; that would be:

Wait untill the outstanding authorisations are cleared; ONLY then you will know who those belong to. Until then, neither you can say anything to IW nor can they really do anything about it assuming they are the ones who have charged your card.

As for IW refunding you and you losing on exchange rate; I (and many IW shoppers here) can assure you that you will want to buy from them again. In such case you can request them to not to credit you in your credit card but to give you credit on your next purchase NO-MATTER WHEN that would be.

Ghayal... Indiaweekly, are excellent for the price and their delivery... i ordered 6 DVDs of em last friday and they turned up today!! EXCELLENT SERVICE INDEED!! as for the amount u orderd.. ive got a feeling u will be stung by customs on that big order!! if u want a sucessful order from IW order about 6 DVDs from them in one go and then its worth it..!! otherwise the customs officer will stamp a big fat bill on u...!!

Thanks, guys !
I agree IndiaWeekly is the best supplier around ( have ordered more than 70 - 80 DVds from them till now). However, it was a good thing I mailed Afzal immediately. Their was indeed a duplicate transaction, and he nullified the second tramsaction cos I expressed concerns about the currency rate loss.

Now, I am just waiting with my fingers crossed hoping that customs wont poke their nose ! I have been taxed once in the past and that was during the anthrax scare, when they had opened my enrite package.

unfortunately, my 'Angoor' DVD has not been shippped. It has not only gone out of stock, but also disappeared from the website !!
