This section is for discussion regarding Arundathi BD, the first Telugu Blu-Ray coming out from RVR. I spoke to the VP of the company and he immediately wanted to hear what we customers have to say regarding the contents of the Blu-Ray which is in the authoring phase. I have invited him here and he was kind enough to set up an account and reply to all our queries.

Cheers!

Hello Everyone,

Arundathi is the first ever blu-ray in Telugu that is coming out on RVR. This is a prestigious and a challenging milestone for RVR brand and Telugu Cinema Industry. As the final end users, we really want to hear what your expectations are on this product. We will try to answer most of your questions, collect most of the relevant suggestions and will pass them to our engineers to see if we can incorporate them into the final product.

Its nice and exciting to be in here!! Thank you Sandeep for letting me know about such a wonderful community!!

Thank you,
Vijayendra.
RVR DVD.

Glad to know that Arundathi is coming out on BluRay can you give us some more details regarding the audio and video that you guys plan to include in the disc. Are you guys using DTS HD-MA or LPCM or DD True HD for audio? What is the source for the master? D5 HD or DPX?

Any chance of teaser samples in form of screen shots :P

We will be having Dolby Digital True Surround Sound Audio. The source for video is DPX.

When is this supposed to hit the streets? And what exactly does "RVR" do? A little background info would be nice. Have seen your name around at the iDream forums.

Apart from DD TrueHD would you be adding a second lossy soundtrack too? Are there going to be any extras in the disc? Any idea of the size of the media is 25GB BluRay disc or 50GB BluRay disc?

That will be the only audio track that is planned to go onto the disc. Yes, there are going to be extras like the making of the movie, interviews, deleted scenes which were hand picked from the bunch to accommodate on one disc. It will be in BD25, best suggested by our engineers.

Thank you,

Thats good to know, would have personally I would have preferred DTS HD-MA. At least you guys arent making the mistake made by zEros by violating BluRay standards and not adding any HD audio. Was surprised YRF went that way also. Which labs are you getting this authored at, Prasad's EFX lab? Since its BD25 are you going with Variable Bit Rate (VBR) for the video instead of Constant Bit Rate (CBR)?
