Thanks for the update Sunny - I just placed my order for Aadhavan. I am sure that whichever one of us on this forum, who gets the Blu-ray first, will come out with a review and constructive feedback..

Are these two separate discs or just sales gimmick to get people to buy multiple copies?

These are separate discs one with Tamil version (Unnaipol Oruvan) and the Telugu version (Eenadu).
The Tamil version has both Tamil and Telugu in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 language, whereas the Telugu version has Telugu in DTS MA 5.1 but Tamil in LPCM 5.1.
I think, they made two separate discs, so that people who want the Telugu version can have their Telugu Cover.

Yarulb Latigid.

I just watched both 'Aathavan' and 'Unnnai Pol Oruvan'. I had in fact ordered the 'Unai Pol Oruvan' Blu-ray and was concerned when I saw the 'Eenadu' Blu-ray in my mailbox. Thankfully, the Blu-ray has both the Tamil and Telugu versions on the same disc (Kamal Hassan with Mohan Lal and Kamal Hassan with Venkatesh respectively). The default soundtrack for both versions was DTS-HD MA 5.1 on my Blu-ray. There is a Tamil LPCM 5.1 soundtrack also. The Blu-ray cover is "Unnai Pol Oruvan" on one side and "Eenadu" on the reverse. So, depending on what language you wanna watch primarily, you can switch your cover accordingly. After that confusion was cleared up, I actually got around to watching the movie. Had very high expectations for the movie as it was shot using the Red One camera and the transfer onto a Blu-ray should mirror the digital source flawlessly, in theory. In practice though, I feel that some of the visual detail has been lost (maybe as a compromise in trying to fit 2 movies into one Blu-ray or maybe that is the level of detail on the source itself?). It just didn't have that 'Wow' factor for me. I could be mistaken here, but that's just my impression. Don't get me wrong though - it is still a fine presentation, just wondering if it could've been better. The DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack does its job as expected.

"Aathavan" is another staple release from Ayngaran, holding up well in both the Audio and Video departments. The video is really up there with other previous definitive ayngaran releases and can certainly give the other Blu-rays a run for their money (barring 'Sivaji' of course, which still remains numero uno). I thought that the amount of discernable detail visible on this Blu-ray was much better than that on 'Unnai Pol Oruvan'. The soundtrack doesn't disappoint either, scoring very highly with both the DTS-HD MA 5.1 and LPCM 5.1 versions onboard (again, I thought that my subwoofers got more of a workout with this Blu-ray than with 'Unnai Pol Oruvan', but then that could also reflect the different natures of the 2 soundtracks in question). Guys, do pitch in with your comments and impressions on the same..

Ayngaran doesn't have blu-ray rights to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya.

Sunny, as an industry insider I would very much like to know your view on this question..What would be the best way to present to the industry (Ayngaran included), a 'wish list', to let them know the amount of interest in a particular Blu-ray, that we as consumers would like to see released? I have been reading on some threads that the 'Magadheera' blu-ray is being released just because of the enormous interest shown by the consumers (even though there was no plan to release the Blu-ray initially as the actual number of potential customers didn't seem to be that impressive). Any suggestions? Can't Ayngaran do an online survey or something like that on its website to assess consumer demand for a particular product, if released?
