My introduction to his corruption theme started with hindustani, that despite flashy style, urmi/manisha loose ends excelled imho, on strong performance by Kamal. I do not know what was his track before this corruption drama.

"Gentleman" with Arjun. Hit movie. Remade into hindi as "The Gentleman" with Chiranjeevi and Juhi. music rehashed by anu malik?

oh, and another corruption movie post "Indian" with Arjun "Muthalvan" aka "Nayak" with Anil Kapoor. and ofcourse, "Anniyan" with Vikram. Didn't much care for Anniyan except for Vikram, Sada and the songs. Liked the rest. Shivaji, I won't touch for a while.

I am so glad a sensible one joined a cynical one lol. same here! and each one is inferior than previous despite being better technology available! But that brings to the point that it is not technology that makes a good film, no doubt it can be used judicially to enhance the otherwise good experience.

Looks like the Blu-ray is out at last. I see it on the Ayngaran website.

The back cover has a goof up. It shows a DTS logo, although there is no DTS track on the Blu-Ray disc. Probably the logo just got carried over from the original publicity artwork for the thatrical release, nevertheless it is still a goof up.

The tiny DTS/Dolby/THX logo is there as part the original theatrical artwork, which I didn't wish to change.
It is clearly marked on the back cover what specs the disc has.
The Blu-ray disc features 5.1 LPCM (original studio steams of final mix).

I hope, your experience of watching this film is more heart warming than mine! esp If you are not well versed with Shankar's universal theme, he has been re churning with a touch up, here, face lift there, plastic surgery overall.

I may get this just for the songs. Are any US-based retailers selling this yet?

I don't know any US retailers. You might have to contact Ayngaran about that.

Also, I'm aware of Shankar re-hashing his "Corruption" theme but then again many filmmakers do repeat a theme (Capra, Ford, Kurosawa, Ozu). He tried to a different film with Boys and Jeans, but considers them to be his weaker films. He therefore decided to become a producer for different genre of films ranging from Kadhal, Kallori, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi, Veyil and Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul.

My next blu-ray project will be Robot - with Ayngaran. This will be a very different Shankar film....trust me...

I'll look forward to that Sunny :D I personally liked Jeans myself though!

Point well taken, so as long as people can swallow it, give them the same different coated pill lol.

See RGV with UNDER GROUND, YRF re churning CHUNRI MAIN AAG, :o well, in present days, there are no chunries and lagaoge kiss kiss chunri main aag lol?

Also, do you know if the Blu-ray will be available in India? I may be going to India in early 2009. I doubt it will be sold there but maybe it will be cheaper to get it in India.
