Tid Bit Info From IndiaFM.com:

Image

Deven Varma -- who was one of the few major attractions of DEEDAR-E-YAAR [Jeetendra, Rekha, Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim] -- found no place in the publicity of the film. But after the film's release, things changed. Taking into account the appreciation that his performance fetched, his three scenes, which were previously deleted, were added to the film.

Armaan - Do you know if those scenes are in the film? I did watch this movie, but probably fans of this film would like to know which version of the movie ERO$ chose.

This is clearly the REVISED EDITION. I don't think the original version is easily available anymore, as the contents of this DVD are the same as to what is shown on television these days. It appears Jeetendra was so disappointed with the box office failure of this muslim social extravaganza, that he had half the film re-shot. In my opinion, the original version is far better, and it might even have been appreciated by today's audience. Films like Silsila and Satyam Shivam Sundaram were flops when released, but are considered classics today.

In the original version, Rekha kills herself after Jeetendra is married to Tina Munim, but her ghost haunts him to the end. Jeetendra invariably sacrifice his life and hands Tina back to Rishi Kapoor. In the revised version, Jeetendra and Rekha die simultaneously, arm in arm, as per above screenshot. There is an additional song at the beginning of the film between Rishi and Tina, which is obviously not on LP or CD.

With regard to DEVAN VERMA's scenes, there appears to be no difference between the revised film (on dvd) and the original (on video). Presumbly the scenes in question were restored to the original, even before it was subjected to major revision.

I doesn't seem this movie is available under any other brand or version, so you might have to accept whatever it is, if you want to see the movie!

I am no expert but going by what you are saying I would say framing is better in Eros.
Surely Shemaroo is chopping the forehead and chin of the stars in the close up shots?

Look at the pic below. Admittedly Eros is dirty, but you can see Reena's chin and forehead, which Shemaroo is hiding!

Since the day I started liking WS over STD, I learned to like this framing better lol.

In WS this kinda framing has a reason for closeups!!
