APNE is a Bollywood drama set in the world of boxing. It is about a man, a former professional fighter and an Olympic silver medalist, who dreams of producing an Indian heavyweight boxing champion. The film was passed ‘12A’ for moderate sports violence. The BBFC’s Guidelines at ‘12A' state that ‘Violence must not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood’. Although the work includes several dynamic and aggressive boxing sequences, which include some sight of blood on the boxers' faces, there is no emphasis on injuries and the level of violence does not go beyond what has been permitted in a sporting context in works such as ROCKY BALBOA (12A).
