I came across this disc and found more than decent pq for an old film..dvd authored by shemaroo, Meena Kumari looks divine!

Anyone know if this version is better than the T-Series DVD? Been holding off buying this for a long tme in the hope of a better DVD release. Even though Meena Kumari does not look her best in the film the photoraphy, set design and the music was amazing. It would totally be ruined in a sub-par DVD.

Came across this DVD (authored by Shemaroo for UDI), among my forgotten DVDs, that I received a few Yrs back. It's a DVD-5 and definitely better than TS DVD-9 version (have that one too).

UDI DVD is 138.5 min (144 min film time)
TS DVD is 136 min (141.5 min)

Trust me, the UDI version is the one to go for. The T-Series version has poorer colors and the huge on-screen logo.
The UDI version looks good, IMO. I guess a Pseudo Progressive or a Progressively encoded DVD exists. I saw "Kahe Tarsaye" on YouTube, which had no speed shift, and looked similar to the screenshots posted here. However, I could see a logo blurred out on the top left corner of the screen.

It's a pity even the TV channels/online platforms can't maintain the OAR! Would love to see the older films in the original 4:3 aspect ratio.

This is a movie that really loses value when its aspect ratio is changed. There is art in every frame of this film. The dance sequences, especially suffer a lot.
