Another high quality release from iDream. The image here appears slightly softer than previous iDream DVDs, but is otherwise up to their usual high standards and obviously is miles better than the latest batch of Hindi releases. The film is an enjoyable time-pass without the usual South-style masala. The plot is basically DDLJ in reverse, with Genelia playing SRK's part and doing an excellent job - the best moments all belong to her.

I didn't find the movie to resemble DDLJ. It's more about a father-son relationship and has excellent screenply and music. And of course, lot of situational comedy.

While this is one of the best iDream releases, Athadu remains 'THE DVD' to check out for DVD quality. Even the movie is excellent. Both these movies are being remade in Hindi. I think Bobby Deol is doing Athadu and for Bommarillu they are trying to rope in Bachans to do Father-Son role.

It's not a remake by any stretch, but the whole 'prospective spouse trying to win the family over' track was quite similar.
