The film transfer was made from the original camera negative via a sprit datacine. The DVD features 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS tracks, and optional English subtitles.

Ayngaran have made better improvements with telecine transfers.
However, the current DVD format doesn't justify them. Because of the limited space some compression problems are seen. Also the MPEG 2 codec smears some of the sharpness away when encoded below 9mbit/sec.

Mehods are being tested to improve this. Hopefully, it will be ready for Pokiri and Guru DVD releases.
