I am afraid so! Bare bones menu, no chapter title, no song title, no special feature title, no nothing! That should give you an insight about the movie! Although it was touted as a modern day knock off, of Romeo and Juliet. Imho, mediocre direction, acting and a weak script. To top it off, bad lip sync to song and dance sequences that literally popped out of thin air.

Why do so many portrayals of young Indians in the west always show Indians dating someone of another race? When in reality for the most part asians tend to date other asians, usually from within same community and religion. Think about it, almost every portrayal of Indians in the west (apart from American Desi) had Indian characters dating outside their race. This does happen but is not as common as being shown. Even for pakistani's with films like East is East, Ae fond kiss and Love + Hate they are always shown dating outside race.

We have never seen a film in the west showing relationships between Indians alone. Why? Is it not controversial enough, that people don't want to see?

As For Bollywood Queen, I hear the film is naff. It is an extended version of a short film called Sari & Trainers. It's the sort of film that makes you ashamed of being asian, even though that's not the intention. I've heard about the weak acting and unlikable characters. But this James McAvoy's career is really starting to take off. As for Preeya Kalidas she was forgotten after Bombay Dreams.

Interesting observation, and it would appear so, but there are a few out there. To name some off my head
Seducing Marya
Trade Offs
Knock, Knock I'm Looking To Get Married
Indian Fish In American Waters
And then of course "Flavors" in the most part, the main Charactors were Indians!
