Screenshots, anyone?

This DVD is now available through Netflix....have ordered the same...will let everyone know about the movie quality (being no expert on DVD quality) over the weekend!

the premise of the movie was interesting enough...almost relevant to modern times in a roundabout fashion, yet not explored enough one felt...the end seemed abrupt as though the film maker thought he should now let the audience decide for themselves whatever. the film is shot beautifully by Debu Deodhar on location in Hampi....the constant hum of Dhrupad in the background is an original thought by the director Amol Palekar....certainly worth at least the one look on DVD for the beautiful Sonali Bendre...she looks as royal and regal as they get....Anant Nag unfortunately is miscast......he looks too old (perhaps this was done on purpose, but then the reason is lost) and sick to be a troubled king....they should have stuck to casting people that could speak the language of the film, the emotions might have appeared better on screen, especially in the case of Nag.....Deepti Naval as the queen's confidante is adequate....just as the movie seemed to get interesting, Palekar seemed to throw in the pillow, is my main grouse !
