There seems to be five DVDs available of this film by YRF, Sky, Spark, T-Series and Ultra...



Any advice on which would be the best to go for (i.e. the least crappy)?

The YRF version has cuts and jumps and is pretty bad quality (dark / washed out picture). I haven't seen any of the others but would say avoid the YRF DVD. I would be interested to know if there is a better version of this movie out there. It's not one of my favourite movies - but I really like the b/w photography in some of the songs. Incidently - this move is a re-make of a 1930's indian movie called President.

I would guess that the Sky and Spark versions are the same transfers as each other with different packaging. They could be good or could be bad. Ultra would be interesting to test out and the T-Series version is probably horrendous!
