I am sure will make our Paki friends go RED (literally) over this :D

As the date and the 1971 Surrender has been literally used (incidently did you folks know that 16th December is incidently is the AZAADi DIVAS for Bangladesh aka the former East Pakistan )

The story of 16 December , is kinda strange though. You link up a past event with a present one. Seems pretty interesting though !

Interesting film, so does this mean Colombia Tristar will do the DVD also? I hope so, with Mission Kashmir coming and Lagaan already out it's looking good for quality films on DVD :thumbs:

Review @ Indiafm;

http://www.indiafm.com/reviews/02/16dec/index.shtml

"On the whole, 16 DECEMBER is a case of all hype, no substance. The film is devoid of 'masala' so important for lovers of commercial cinema and will therefore be rejected at the box-office."

..a must watch for everyone else if Taran doesn’t like it :p

Ali, that was funny.... I still can't forget what Taran said about Dil Chahta Hai.

From the interview of the director and previews/trailors on TV, the film does look exciting and intelligent.

My confusion however is whether the film is already released in India/Indian theatres in USA/UK/Canada?

If not, how come Taran's review?

Supposedly got released today, but cant find any cinemas showing it. Cineworld in Bradford (UK) usually gets all new films but its not listed for any showing at the moment - they are still showing Gadar, Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, Kranti, Lagaan and the other one which opened today, Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai - no sign of December 16 ???

rediff has given 16th december a good review.. calling it a good first attempt. taran is as usual reviewing the film badly due to the fact that it doesnt have scope at the box office. incidentally he has given kya yehi pyar hai a pretty crap review too.... so has b4u looks like that is a film one can avoid....

The film opened here in India, today, Friday the 22nd of March. The press and industry people have access to special preview shows before the relese of the film, early reviews can be explained by that.

As per Subhash Jha's article in Rediff, '16 December' box office numbers PICKED up by 10 percent after the first few days. Its initial was 70%. So there goes Taran-idiot-Adarsh's theory that 'commercial'(whatever the f@#! it means) movies only run at the box offices. From the director's interview the story did seem to have some meat. Also Jitendra Kothari's review in TheNewspapertoday rates the movie at about ok. The effects are cool but some place it does not quite leave a mark. Yet he recommends a one-time viewing.

So there....booooo to that nincompoop Taran Adarsh.
