DVD by Vanguard. Subtitles are burnt in and cannot be removed! Don't let that stop you! For all Mohan Lall's fan a must see! One of his greatest role, come feel the emotional high and his confusion as the story unfolds. You will enjoy the Kathakali dance scenes and the lavish costumes. I was transfixed and stared in awe at the perfomances. In the end I felt good watching this movie, quite a change from all the recent B/W remakes!

Completely agree - a really nice film, beautiful cinematography and subtle acting by Mohan Lal. Highly recommended

BTW - its actually a French production right?

You haven't mentioned where I can buy Malayalam dvds from online. Where do they sell this one?

Well, looks like it's my 500th post at Zulm - so here's a little something special: Comparison screenshots from the French PAL DVD by Warner Home Video... :)

Rats. If the Vanguard DVD had optional subtitles one could combine the subtitles on that DVD with the video and audio on the Warner DVD. Its probably too much to hope that Warner in Region 1 releases this.

Thank you for these shots - they seem vastly improved over the Vangaurd version (which i own). I am going wait till this gets released in hi-def (maybe in 2012 !)

Great Movie though !
