As was routine a few years ago, DEI/ BEI comes up with Progressive DVD, then Shemaroo one comes minus Progressive encoding out of same telecine. Now, you say you found your Shemaroo AMS DVD Field Averaged ?? Must be from a different batch ??

Yes. It was from another batch by Shemaroo (the Pseudo Progressive one). My parents had ordered it from a video library and I just remember that the pitch / speed was normal (it was like 6 years ago and I didn't have knowledge about DVDs that time) unlike other Shemaroo films I saw which had high pitches.

So I concluded that it was pseudo-progressive.

Not seen any other releases/batches, though. But their songs DVDs have all the songs field averaged

And (I know this question is stupid) is BEI AMS better?? In terms of sharpness, colors, etc.?

So is this one Pseudo Progressive?
