I've been trying to burn a dvd which is around 7.0 GB. Have installed a NEC 2510A Dual Layer dvd writer and am trying to burn the dvd with TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6. The problem I'm having is that when it comes to writing the file onto dvd, it says that the media is faulty.

The two disks I got from SVP are the "Datasafe DVD+R DL 8.5GB" & the "RiDisc DVD+R DL 8.5 GB" but both fail to write using the TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 programme.

Can somebody recommend which disk/media is usable in the above programme

Check on http://www.cdfreaks.com. I'm not sure if the 2510 supports the the ridata DVD+DL with stock firmware. Check the NEC forum for reports from fellow NEC DVDR users. I have the ND-2500 and love it. My next drive will be the successor to the recently released ND-3500....I'm waiting for the DVD-RDL format to be finalized.
