K3G DVD
Yash Raj Films
3hrs 29mins 58secs
Quick Look
* Bare Bone DVD - Truely no chapter/song listing inlay card in DVD case :rolleyes:
* Average Bit Rate : 3 - 4.5
* 2.30:1 Aspect Ratio
* Artifacts visible but not to distracting point
* Pretty good color and vibrancy, in my opinion better than Mohabbatein and ten times better than DDLJ DVDs.

Better than Mohabbatein and DDLJ? I think not, considering the extras those two gave.

Why do you guys give so much importance to extras. Extras are good if they are there, but what is much more important is the main feature being presented well. I personally would take a well mastered DVD with excellent picture and sound quality without any extras over a DVD that may have tons of extras but where the quality is bad aka DDLJ.

Are those screenshots correct? Is that how they are on the DVD? It looks like the geometry should be corrected because those screenshots look like what happens when you put a 16:9 enhanced disc in 16:9 mode on a 4:3 television. I corrected the geometry of some of those shots on MGI PhotoSuite SE to make it into a 16:9 aspect ratio and it looks proportional.

I corrected the screen shots to be 16x9 on top, then the correct AR on the DVD is roughly 2.30:1.

Just got my copy and I have to say the DVD is not as good. The colours on the DVD looked quite bad on some scenes, with much brown and yellow-reddish- hues taking over the picture frame. Picture is also soft in places. But it is one of Yash Raj's best DVD's. Shame the 5.1 sound isn't as fullfilling. On a normal 5.1 system no major problems can be compleatly detected, but on high end systems some slight hissing and noise is heard and is quite faint in its dilevery. So those with phat sound DD systems prepare to be dissa-pointed.

Incidently, my mate (who doesn't understand a word of Hindi/Urdu) saw the film with subtitles and found it too "campy" in its translations. Was the cinema subtitled print the same as the subtitles on this disc?

I was referring to the quality of the video, like I mentioned there are no extras.

I watched only parts of the DVD, and from what I have seen I am much happier with this so far than KKHH, Mohabbatein and DDLJ.

Stereo, I have a basic 5.1 system, therefore like Sunny mentioned the sound is good, but maybe on Hi-End systems, like he has, might have problems.

Super Digital as always but surprisingly it is good. I guess because the menu is not fancy, no extras therefore ample room left for the movie which made it looks better and video was not sacrificed.
