I did acquire EROS "Love In Simla" 1-2 yrs back and recently also picked up Shemaroo version.

Both seem to be from a "Microvision Copy Protected" source as bright objects (lamps etc) show up with wiggly streaks. Shemaroo is somewhat better PQ than EROS.

CC shows April 1970 cert @ 4633.57 meters (169 min). EROS DVD is about 161 min (4% speed up ??). Shemaroo version is 5-6 min cut (description below).
Both DVDs are fully field averaged.

I wonder what was the film length at time of orig release in 1960 ?? Perhaps the same as 169 min as in 1970 CC ??

What's missing in Shemaroo DVD :
At 120 min mark in Shemaroo DVD (122 min mark in EROS DVD) there is scene for Miss Simla selection and Film contract competition. After the first song (Ho Haiyya) there is a tiff between Sadhna and Joy Mukherjee leading to 2nd part of competition song "Husn Waale Wafaa Nahin Karte (Qwwali type)". This tiff (I think it's important part of the plot) is abruptly cut (30 sec cut) and takes us abruptly to the end of "Husn Waale Wafaa" song (185 sec cut).

Another scene slightly cut is at about 106 min mark where Sadhna's aunt pampers her to go talk to sad cousin Shila (Azra ??). Nothing much but just that one scene abruptly cuts incomplete and the next starts equally abruptly (20-30 sec).

Songs
http://www.rediff.com/entertai/2003/mar/08dinesh.htm
Dil tham chale hum Rafi
Love ka matlab hai pyar Asha-Rafi
Aber ah Rafi
Eh baby idhar aa Asha-Rafi
Gaal gulabi kiske hain Rafi
Haseeno ki sawari hai Rafi-Suman Kalyanpur
Muskurayen khet pyase (Ho Haiyya) Rafi-Suman Kalyanpur
Dar pe aaye hain tere Mukesh
Yun zindagi ke raaste Rafi

Not listed in Rediff list but is in film:
Husn Waale Wafaa Nahin Karte (Qwwali type) (right after "Ho Haiyya" song).

I wonder which song has Usha Khanna's voice ??
And:
Perhaps it's this song "Husn Waale Wafaa Nahin Karte" that has Shamshaad Begum's voice ??

Start credits has Suman Hemadi name in playback singers list. Is this Suman Kalyanpur's alternate last name ??

---------------------
Trivia/ Quiz: Sure it's easy to find out who gave Music in this film , but can you recall from memory who the Music Director was ?? (BTW, Usha Khanna is one of the playback singers in this film but is not this film's Music Director).

----------------------------------------------------------------
Corrected/ Ediited/ Adjusted comments as I had CC indicated length as 4366 m instead of 4633 meters actual.
