sknath, can you post some pics NOT in force weave mode? i.e. autoselect.. that way we can have a better idea of the pic quality as it would be while watching it. i don't think we all pause to check for combing.. :;):

Sorry Chebji Me dont have pictures in non-forceweave mode... I am only interested in Progressive stuff :) Thank heavens I got to see Spiderman ( a shit dvd compared to Hollywood standards...but miles ahead when I compare with this pathetic "DVD" (if we can classify this one) called Deewangee)..

Ali will prolly post the other screenshots..in a non-forceweave mode :)

thas cool... you know i was just takin a jab at you! :) but i guess as you or somebody mentioned on the devdas thread, a laptop computer is progressive, no? but the thing i meant was that you don't really notice the combing unless you pause.. atleast, that is my experience. but yeah, i can understand this dvd is pathetic, and i saw your comparison with progressive encoded dvds... i just wanted to see whether the picture is sharp, detailed, etc. thas why i asked abut non-prog capture.. take care man

No Chebji... u dont need to pause ur Laptop to see combing

I am presuming u are using POWERDVD for watching ur movies...

Now if you change ur PowerDVD ->configuration->settings->video->advanced and then make it in a Force weave (if you have the 4.0 XP version) mode, then whether u see Spiderman or DTPH or KKHH or KNPH you will see the picture exactly same ....

Now on the other hand u are watching Devdas or even this DVD (Deewangee).. If you have it in a force weave mode, you will see the stuff i posted... combing... On the other hand if you have an auto select mode.. you will see
something like this
Image

Thats the only difference you will notice... Shit in both cases. As Arsh has stated there wont be any problem if you have a low end system which is interlaced but on ur HDTV or Computer screen, you will see the various artifacts :)

sknath,

thanks for the clarification about when you would see combing.. i thought it was only on pausing. well, either way it was just teasing you a bit about your screen caps. :) hope no offense! i use windvd 4, by the way. one thing is apparent though from these caps... dvd is like a vhs copy.. shame, innit?
