No Khushi this Friday at the BO
Friday, February 7, saw the release of four films: Khushi, Satta, Baaz and Freaky Chakra.
As expected, the World Cup worked to Bollywood's disadvantage.

Though the Fardeen Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Khushi opened to housefull collections, they have now dropped considerably. Satta's political theme had limited appeal. Baaz was a non-starter from the word go.

Note: Films are ranked on the basis of their performance at the box-office every week. Though a film may be declared a flop, it may have performed better than other films that week.

If they lower their expectations on theatrical attendance, Flops could become Average, Average could become Hit and a Hit could become a Super Hit. They must adjust to the attendance trend. Gone are the days where they got full house for a week or two.

I think they just watch for the ROI (return on investment). So the only way to get hits is by lowering the prices which would mean lowering the money paid to stars etc, and not wasting money on extravagant locations/sets

Anyway I am not too sure if I beleive this thing about all movies being flops. I dont see anyone in financial distress. Moreover I see people spending more on making films and the stars getting paid even more

I don't believe this box office reporters. Let's see how much Khushi grosses first, and then take in account how much money needs to be covered.
