Who's better Karan or Adi?
DDLJ or KKHH?
Mohabbatein or KKKG?

Even though most of you don't like Mohabbatein, you have got to admit, that the direction, screenplay etc. is top notch-even better than DDLJ!

Who do you think is better?[B]

by a very narrow margin i would go for aditya chopra... however both r good and they graduate from the same yash chopra school of filmmaking their styles are very similar.....
ddlj vs kkhh ddlj wins
mohabttein vs k3g well time will tell.... i hope k3g cos i didnt like mohabettein.

I prefer KKHH and Karan Johar over DDLJ and Aditya. It's not that DDLJ is bad but Mohabbatein really sucked big time for me. But still bought the dvd! hehehe!

I would prefer Adi(Aditya Chopra) over Karan Johar, as Karan Johar likes to copy Adi's footsteps. DDLJ had SRK-KAJOL combo. Karan repeated them in KKHH. Mohabbatein had AB-SRK clash, Karan seems to mimic Adi again, by putting them together in K3G. To me, Aditya Chopra seems more of a experimental director from the YRF's banner. He tried something different with Mohabbatein, and a story which was difficult to handle (which he didn't pull off either). But atleast he tried something new for the Bollywood era, and didn't try to mimic a previous hindi film. Whereas, Karan goes back to concepts shown in previous films with K3G (KKHH, Ek Rishta, HSSH, HAHK etc.). Though Karan might turn out to succeed above all these other films, but his concept of K3G isn't original.

If one were to base their decision solely on their first movies, then I would state that 'DDLJ' was a far superior movie to 'KKHH' and that Aditya Chopra is quite a bit better than Karan Johar as a director. But, after having seen 'Mohabbatein' one wonders if Aditya Chopra and 'DDLJ' were just flukes. Mohabattein in my opinion was at best a mediocre film with not one original scene in it. As for the 'Archana Puran Singh & Anupam Kher' scenes, the less said the better. I guess we will have to wait for 'K3G' to decide on Karan Johar, although based on the previews and teasers, K3G does not look like it has anything new to offer. In fact it looks so much like 'Mohabbatein' in terms of locales, sets and camera work. Actually it seems that both of Aditya and Karan make their movies almost in partnership and therefore there is a lot of influence of both on each others work. With the result they seem to end up looking just the same.

well aditya and karan do work with each other..... karan assisted adi in the making of ddlj(even acted in it as shahrukh's friend and sharukh keeps kicking his cap off ha ha)..... and hence is very heavily influenced by the chopra style of filmmaking.... majority of their films have very simple storylines treated in a way that is pleasing to the audiences with great locales, sets and music and ofcourse star cast.... mohabettein was a mess as while it had all the typical ingredients of an entertainer it lacked a strong script and those 3 love stories one couldnt care less about... again k3g has a massive star cast and a simple story abt reuniting the family..but if it is treated right to entertain then there is no reason why this film wont be enjoyable..... so far looks good lets wait for the real reviews and reports... but if k3g is good then it puts adi and karan neck to neck....

Filmibuff!!!!
I disagree with u, wen u say Mohabbatein was a crap script, i think the script was top notch, Aditya chopra is the taking over from Prakash Mehra at writing excellent dialogues and scenes...take a look at the scene at Narayan Shankar's house at the end of the movie-CLASSIC PIECE OF CINEMA!!!

I think that both Karan & Adi should direct something else now.....like an action movie or summat!!!!

Honey Irani (Farhan Akthkar's mother) helped write DDLJ...and her absence was evident in DTPH and Mohabattein...which Aditya Chopra wrote. Mohabattein was more of the tripe that desis abroad lap up for some reason.

well guys! if u insist!Mohabtaen was a very good film! then my hands are down!I am uncapable of comments!
but!if we stay with the fact!DDLJ!was brilliant!Mohabtaen..O.k!!being generous!!Just timing!!
KKHH!!!Hypish!!with some good performances..overall
then still with verdict I'll vote for Chopra on Johar's style of film making!!!
Overall i think both Mohabtaen and KKKH were trying to be another DDLJ with no or luck! but not reaching even upto head of that!Personally I liked DTPH over both Mohabtaen and KKHH but not over DDLJ, that is still number one after 6 years!!

Farhan Akhtar - that's a guy who can beat the crap out of both Chopra and Johar:sly:. Of course I loved DDLJ and KKHH too, but one has to move with the times. This sickly sweet genre of films takes its toll on you over time :D When I watched Mohabbatein, I wondered if I'd stopped enjoying this genre altogether - but I guess it was because it's just a not-so-good film. It comes across a pretentious unlike DDLJ. Between Johar and Chopra, I prefer Johar, no thanks to Mohabbatein. Also, Chopra wrote the script for Dil To Pagal Hai - which not only silly and pretentious but also very boring.

I think the bad thing abou Dil to Pagal hai was that it didn't show the background of the characters, for eaxample, who were SRK's parents/family.
As for Mohabbatein, i think the movie is ver well made, look at all the camera movements, scene locales and above all the dialogues, especially the one at the end where SRK is talking to AB in Narayan Shakars house!!

after seeing K3G, i have to say DDLJ is the best then it's
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
KKHH
Mohabbatein
DTPH

Best Dialogues
DDLJ
Mohabbatein
DTPH
KKHH
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Best Looking (LOCATIONS etc.)
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
Mohabbatein
DDLJ
KKHH
DTPH

Music
ALL EXCELLENT

Best Scene
K3G: Final Scene
DDLJ: Final Train Scene
Mohabbatein:AB & SRK Confontation near the end!
KKHH: School Fuction, with one minute contest..when little Anjali draws the word "MAA" out of the bowl.
DTPH:Last Scene

I don't want to digress...but my fav. is Sooraj Barjatya...Maine Pyar Kiya and HAHK were amazing...I saw HAHK 5 times in the theatre alone...absolutely amazing, rich, clean etc...(as for HSSH, it was just suffering from a HAHK hang over)...

Now back to the adi vs Karan...I would have to say Karan is the better one...DDLJ was good, but every time I see that dialogue Shah rukh says in the end to Kajol's mom about getting approval etc, I start snoring...that was one boring speech alright...As for Mohabbatein, it was such an incredibily stupid movie and I was actually hoping for the best going into the movie...I mean Shah Rukh seemed like a sick pervert the way he looked at the three kids falling in love...I mean give me a break, I find it hard to believe that a teacher would flipping risk his career so that a bunch of immature kids can make love...now that's one sick pervert...

As for KKHH...I really loved it...it was well made, good acting, the summer camp was a good idea, the flash backs were very interesting (and I usually hate flash backs)...As for K3G, I haven't seen it, but it definitely cannot be worse than Mohabbatein...

These are just my opinions...hope I didn't hurt others' feelings by this post...
