No way!!!!!!

I have good copies of Amanush and Anand Ashram on VHS, will only be getting these if they are of good quality..............I've wasted enough money on crap DVDs!!!

Maybe you can persuade Afzal to stock them, then I might consider it!!!

just phoned them, have no return policy, and beta tape is used as source.

Print er kotha jiggesh korlam, bollo jey excellent print and habijabi.. Beta Tape kay source hishebey bebohar korechey, karon valo film print nei.. :(
Ekbaar neebar-o chinta korechi.. but U$20 takar maayai, mind bodley fellam!

Shuman, did you ask them if they would ever start using new digital transfers? I'm sick of seeing DVDs done from Beta or worse. I don't think I'll even rent these discs now.

bhai, it would be like talking to yashraj and telling them to not to use beta as source. anyway the time when i talked to them about several months ago, they tried to convince me that the source available isn't any better than what they used. This the best possible dvd you can get is what they have. :rolleyes:

i dont think there is any point trying to tell them about digital transfers. should anyone write to them, pls do ask them to put subtitles as well.

Yeah I second what Dragun has just stated. These DVDs should be consigned to the dustbins !...

Dragun if I am not mistaken there are a couple of DVDs released by BISWAS records.. Are these also of the same category ?

I am not too impressed by the DVD covers so I wont bother inquiring abt them.. However Dragun if you get access to these DVDs would you be kind enuff to tell us abt the quality etc. ?

That's what I was thinking, Sknath. The DVD covers look bad so the discs themselves probably are. One store near me has 5 or 6 Arjoe DVDs for rent, so I'll rent one or two and give a report on the quality just for the sake of confirming the quality. I'm afraid that I can't make screenshots, but perhaps Bhaskar will do it for me!

As the more experienced Zulmis may know, I'm a sucker for bad dvds.........and I'm about to place an order with IW (cos I want to get Abhimaan..........I can see one or two of these coming this way as well......... :fight:

Two reasons for that :-

a) couldn't see any of them at IW
b) I got Kalankini Kankabati, and Roudrachaya doesn't really look amazing.

BUT check out the Bengali DVDs at http://www.indiandvdfilms.com - I wouldn't mind getting my hands on Bhalobasha Bhalobasha and Dadar Kirti - two of my all time fav Bengali movies!

If I were You I wouldnt pay 17£ for those DVDs... the bengali equivalents of BABA dvds ! :angry:

Cant you get hold of these dvds for rent ? Any Bangladeshi / Indian shop should have these dvds... but unfortunatelynot many Indian Bengalis own grocery stores, so the chances of finding them are very rare !

Maybe you should ask Afzal to send you a complimentary copy for you to review........

On a side note, DragunR2, I didn't realise you were Bengali! And there are already screenshots of Antarghaat posted earlier in the forums!
