No idea about Leela, but isn't Vanaprastam (Malayalam) the movie that won a National Award a couple of years back? Anyone got any idea about the DVD quality, and does it have subtitles?

Now the bad part. The transfer from video to DVD is awful. It’s not that the image is bad it’s that the transfer of the film has not been anamorphically squeezed flat so the characters all look very distorted and skinny. I’ll admit to being a perfectionist in this matter so I noticed it in the first two seconds. I phoned Vanguard and they acknowledged the mistake but seemed to think that it’s not that bad. You be the judge. Other than the noticeable error the colors are sharp and the contrasts are strong.

It does have English subtitles.
