OK guys, here is some info regarding K3G's BO status:

- On opening weekend in India, K3G grossed approx. 13-14 crores. This is how opening weekends in India stand now this year, after K3G:

1. K3G: 13.6 crores
2. Indian: 9.42 crores
3. Gadar: 9.05 crores
4. Lagaan: 8.44 crores
5. Ajnabee: 8.32 crores

So as you can see, K3G pretty much shattered that record, which was previously held by Indian, for the best opening gross in India this year!

- K3G has grossed approx. 19-20 crores at the Indian BO up until this point. Now, that figure is obviously a few days old, so it's probably grossed 5-8 more crores by this point. Watch for the exact updated figure in the near future!

- Next, let's now move to the overseas market. K3G is now at approx. at the 2 million dollar mark in the North American market. This currently places it at the number 4th position on the list of top grossers in North Amerca. Here is a short list of those films:

1. HAHK - $2.5 million (10 crores)
2. KKHH - $2.1 million (9.02 crores)
3. HSSH - $2.05 million (9.03 crores)
4. K3G - $2.0 million (9.42 crores)
5. Taal - $1.98 million (8.91 crores)

***Note: the number in the brackets represents the conversion from US Dollars to Indian Rupees***

DDLJ is at number 6 with approx. $1.6 million in collections!
and Lagaan can be found at number 11 with $1 million!

Now now folks, before you start jumping out-of-your-seats about how well K3G is doing, keep in mind the number of prints sold for it in NA. That number is a massive 76 prints in North America alone, which sets a new record in NA. The previous highest for a bollywood film was 66 prints, and that was by Asoka!

Compared to 76 prints for K3G, Lagaan had only 33, Taal had 44, Mohabbatein had 55, and HSSH had almost 60 prints. So you can see how K3G compares with some of the other films on that list, in terms of the number of theatres each film played in North America!

- Now since we've covered North Amerca, it's time to move on to the other big Overseas BO, the UK Box-Office. And needless to say, K3G has also done mind-boggling business at the UK BO as well. It has crossed the one million pound mark in the Uk, as it is only the fifth bollywood film, which has accomplished this feat. Here is a short list of the other films which managed to accomplish it, and how they compare with K3G:

1. HAHK - £1.53 million (9.02 crores)
2. DDLJ - £1.49 million (8.79 crores)
3. KKHH - £1.44 million (8.79 crores)
4. K3G - £1.16 million (7.81 crores)
5. Lagaan - £1.0 million (6.73 crores)

***Note: the number in the brackets represents the conversion from UK pounds to Indian Rupees***

Now, as you guys can see again, K3G has lifted itself with the elite's in quite a short period of time. But again, you have to keep in the mind the number of prints sold. There were about 41 prints sold for K3G in UK. Comparitively speaking to that figure, there were 29 prints sold for Lagaan, 76 for Asoka, 18 for Yaadein, 17 for DCH, and 26 for both KKHH & Laagan!

So there you go guys, those were the numbers for K3G up till now at the BO. On another interesting note, K3G has already grossed approx. 37 crores in worldwide BO collections. About 19 crores of that is that from India, and 17 crores from the overseas market!

After K3G, here is how the Top 5 worldwide grossers list looks like for 2001:

1. Gadar - 66.47 crores (1.47 crores overseas)
2. Lagaan - 50 crores (11 crores overseas)
3. K3G - 37 crores (17 crores overseas)
4. Dil Chahta Hai - 20 crores (2.9 crores overseas)
5. Indian - 20 crores (overseas not available)

Now, only a miracle can stop K3G from overtaking Lagaan's total collections, while it will probably be a close call between Gadar & K3G, and which film will end up with the higher worldwide gross!

I think it's safe to say that K3G is right where most expected it to be at this point in time, and that is the fact that it's lighting up the Box-Office on fire, especially the Overseas BO. To some, K3G's massive collections up till this point might come as a surprise, but those people probably under-estimated the film's BO power in the first place.

All in all, there is really no doubt that K3G will likely end up being one of the biggest hits of all-time, exactly what was expected from such a huge starcast, and not to mention the 42 crore budget, which is the biggest in bollywood history!

Anyways, I hope you learned some interesting data from this post of mine, and also, hope you guys like the way I analyzed all these figures and numbers. If you have any questions or anything, please do let me know!
