I went to my local video shop yesterday, and he had all the latest DVDs out on the counter. Each and every single one of them were pirates - but the covers all had the logos of the right company on them eg Dil Vil Pyar Vyar and Deewangee had Spark logo, Hathyar had an Eros logo. I'm assuming these are pirates because the covers are different from the ones shown on Zulm, and none of these DVDs had any certification on them. I've only seen the pirate Road and Dil Vil Pyar Vyar - both quite bad, pan and scan copies. Are these pirates available all over the UK?

Actually if the original DVD is released right after the theatre release then the pirate is from the original DVD, which depending on who authored the original, can be good. If the original DVD is not released right after then there can be various qualities of pirate DVD of one movie. ie. Yaadein (p/s), HSSH, DDLJ, K3G etc.

those that are released prior to the official dvd release are pirates in the sense that they are not from dvd source probably a cam /telesync/screener prints which explains why they are pan & scan !!!

these have been burned on to dvd disks !!!

once the dvd has been released officially then those that are reproduced are from the orignal dvd soruce hence a perfect copy in every aspect sound subtitles and anomorphic if the the orignal had these!!!

Apparently there’s a massive flood of these pirates on the market now. They are some markets in London (and probably others places too) which are openly selling pirate 2in1, ditto DEI and others copied DVDs for around £5 each.

I say fight fire with fire and all the best to them as these legit guys sit on their idle-arses doing nothing about improving the quality of Indian DVDs. It’s a problem these makers/distributors of DVD are created themselves (and more likely a part the running the problem too). I agree with what vjmajic2002 said on another thread about buying these pirates. This site has been running nearly for two years now and the only sensible (and legal) advice from seasoned regulars has been if your not happy with Indian DVDs, don’t buy them and make it known to the makers what they are doing wrong. Well for two years (and probably much longer than that, from the time Sunny was running IDN) the message has fallen on deaf (and most probably dumb) ears and less said about the no buy policy the better :oh: If you’ve had any feedback from people who are in charge of making these pathetic DVDs you’ll realise they live in a world where they think these DVDs are of good quality – they don’t listen to peoples feedback. Only thing matters to them is money. So as one member once said if its money what matters then stop buying their DVDs – I say go further – if you want to buy a film get the ditto copies instead and to rub it in tell the original makers why you brought it!

Of course there’s a big flaw in that argument – the money goes back to muppets in charge anyway as they are the ones who runs pirate show too :bangbang: :stupid:

If these legit companies are the ones putting out the better pirate editions, then I guess that means these companies DO make good dvds!! :stupid:

sarcasm fully intended

I didn’t say the pirate were any better :oo: The pirates are as good as the original they copy off which by implication means they are as pathetic (quality regards) as the originals too!

I beg to differ. Despite the same pic/audio quality, the price is half or less. That makes it better! :p :D

Oh yeah, much better value for money - hence the argument you should go for these instead of expensive official DVDs! :kungfu:

There's been a sudden boom in 2-in-1 DVDs. Today I saw Vaastav/Hathyaar, Shakti/Shakti (the 2002 version and the AB film), and a few others.

i happened to see this 2in1 at a friends last week(brought in toronto) and the quality is absolutely shit..... it is a pirate version of the new devdas and probably the yashraj copy of the old devdas... much as the great value it may offer this particular 2inone should be avoided at all costs....
