I liked it. Art-masala type movie. Naseeruddin Shah and introducing Archana Puran Singh in lead roles. Amitabh is guest artist, perhaps no more than 2-3 minutes sequence. Naseerudin action hero. Do you remember that "Jalwa" music (no song) number filmed on Archana.

It's a decent movie - I remember watching it just for AB, cos his face was splashed all over the cover..........Don't remember too much about it, but Naseeruddin Shah plays a cop, who keeps on asking the villain something along the lines of 'toone apni maa se apni baap ka naam poocha?' :p

Bet the DVD wil be shit though!

Calendar of Mr India (Director/ Actor Satish Kaushik) is threatened by his cop boss that he will fire him. He boasts, fine- I will join films; Amitabh is my childhood friend and always consults and confides in me. While he was boasting, in comes Amitabh. About 2-3 min sketch, Amitabh participates in this comic sketch for about 1-2 min. Nice comedy.

This film also has Johny Lever, must have been his earlier films.

A loose adaptation of 'Beverly Hills Cop', this Pankuj Parasher movie is perhaps also his best (you could thrown in 'Chaalbaaz' too in that list).

Naseeruddin Shah worked out at Talwalkar's Mumbai to get those rippling muscles, for this movie. It had Tejeshwar Singh (a Doordarshan news reader) as the bad honcho and Dalip Tahil as his main hit man. And then there is also Archana Puran Singh, then Parasher's girl friend as the heroine. It has Remo Fernandes doing a small cameo as a bar singer. He also croons the title song.

Ofcourse Pankaj Kapoor the hero of Parasher's hit TV serial 'Karamchand' stars in another small cameo. It also has Kamini Kaushal doing a great job as the hero's mother. With superb dialogues by Kamlesh Pandey (Parasher's friend from the ad world, Pandey was lead copy writer at Rediffusion) 'Jalwa' is a must see for anyone interested in an action comedy caper. Johnny Lever debuts as a comedian par excellence. His take on Ashok Kumar as the host of another Doordarshan serial 'Hum Log' is simply rollicking.

As Saeed Jaffrey says in the movie of super cop Shah 'Inspector Kapil ke jalwe hi kuch aur hain'.......

i really liked this movie when it was released... BTW it's a rip-off of Beverly Hills Cop.
