Here's a reply from Herr Winkler the producer of the movie. It is currently doing the rounds of the USA in restored 35mm film format....here's a flick I would like to catch on film and DVD...apparently it has been exquisitely shot(Nyquist)...Has anyone on Zulm seen it and cares to comment?

And here's Dennis' reply........the DVD release is indeed in December ! A list of theaters playing the movie is towards the end.....

around the country starting this summer. The first few dates are listed below
with more to come. The Oak Street will be showing it in Minneapolis on
September 7-19.

The VHS and DVD release -- which will feature a half hour interview with Mr.
Rooks, the original US trailer, and (on DVD only) the complete shooting

Is this the same Sidhartha with Sashi Kapoor made back in the 70's.

Sknath, Simi Garewal nude? I thought she only was nude for mera naam joker.

exactly what I intend finding out !! :laugh:

and yes khiladi, this is indeed the movie made in the seventies, 1972 actually...btw the novel itself is pretty slow and heavy reading (as are all of Hesse's works)....so I am under no illusion abt the movie itself, except for some great cinematography by Nyquist(i think).....

As per Raj Kapoor and as per Simi, the back nude shot in Mera Naam Joker was on a duplicate.

In Sidhartha, Simi's role is a small one and the picturization is at par with western picturisation of that story.
