NFT programme for October/November includes:

Sunday 27 October 4.10 "Lagaan"

Sunday 27 October 8.45 - The Guardian interview with Aamir Khan. Aamir will read extracts from the book "The Spirit of Lagaan". discuss his career and take questions from the audience etc.

Cost £15 for both events; £10 for interview only (!).

Friday 18th October 8.50 Conversation with Shyam Benegal

Cost £9.30

Season of Shyam Benegal movies from 2 October to 6 November includes "Zubeidaa" "Ankur" "Samar" "Bhumika" "Junoon" and others.

A NEW print of "Mughal-E-Azam" is showing between 25 October and 6 November (18 showings). I hope this is better than their print of "Mother India".

NFT members can book from 9 September. Members of the public can book by phone from 20 Sept (I think all tickets for the Aamir Khan event will be snapped up by then).

Cheers

John

The box office number for NFT is 020 7928 3232. However, they won't be taking telephone bookings from the public until Friday 20th September.

NFT Members have priority booking and can apply for tickets by post (those are being processed from 9th September).

If too many members apply for tickets, there is a lottery type system used to allocate tickets.

Details of NFT membership is at:

http://www.bfi.org.uk/showing/nft/about/join.html

Annual membership is £20 - not bad if you go to the NFT often but expensive if anyone is planning to only see the Aamir event (you'll have to pay for the event on top of the membership!).

However, when you think how many crappy DVD's you might have wasted money on it might not seem so bad ("Mela" "Yaddein" "HAHK" (YAWN) and "Raju Chacha" are just some of the dud films in my collection.)
