The DTS press release is referring to the theatrical release of Lagaan, not the DVD release. Which I am sure will only be released with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, since Columbia has not released any DTS titles so far. The exceptions being, the new Superbit series of certain blockbuster hollywood titles a.k.a. 'Air Force One', 'Fifth Element', 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' etc. By the way, almost all movies in India, like their Hollywood counterparts are released with both Dolby Digital and DTS sound prints. This is true atleast for almost all movies released with Digital Surround sound. Therefore depending on the theater you watch it at, you can choose to watch them in either sound formats. The DTS press release makes it seem as if Lagaan maybe the first or a rare DTS release, which is not true.

Oops! How did that one slip my mind? Men In Black was an exception as far as DTS DVDs and Columbia are concerned. The reason for it being that Steven Spielberg owns part of DTS and since he is also a producer on 'MIB' he insisted that the DVD have a DTS track too.

Also, now that this has come up, there is one more DTS release from Columbia, which again is a Steven Spielberg film, 'Close Encounters Of The Third Kind'.
