The commentary is pretty good; much like the film it's entertaining but not that insightful if you're looking for tips on filmmaking. It's more of the fun facts about how the shooting went and the small details that you miss while watching the film.

But Farah Khan is more animated compared to Nikhil Advani of KHNH, who seemed like he was just reading off from a script.

The annoying part though is that the movie sound is completely muted on the commentary track, so if Farah is quiet for a couple of seconds, you don't hear anything. And when she's describing stuff like the background score, you still can't hear anything. That's the genius of Eros.

T-Series owns the rights to Main Hoon Naa so either T-Series will release this movie on DVD themselfs or hopefully shemaroo or Sony entertainment will buy the rights, but I highly doubt T-series will sell off the DVD rights for India since they know they will make alot of money since the movie is a big hit.

For other movies: Hum Tum will release on DVD in India by Sony Entertainment so will Lakshya (so two good DVDs will be coming out shortly for the India market).

It's logical to produce DVDs "In India" for "Indian Market" In PAL. It will be a good DVD by default. Provided they don't use a NTSC telecine by mistake.

If I am not wrong, DVDs produced and sold in India are NTSC and not PAL.

But Why??
It's PAL standard in India.

They don't intend to limit them to sale in India only. They want to make more money by selling those DVDs in some one else's territory. To further their profits, they get a cheaper PAL telecine (even though they fully intend to make NTSC dVD) and then convert to NTSC DVD, ruining the DVD for all.

Yeah, most of the DVDs made in India are for the most part done in NTSC. I'm trying to find who is releasing Main Hoon Naa for the Indian Market. Hopefully it is not T-Series.

I agree wit most people's opinions of this DVD... I finally got it last week and watched it wit my friends and we enjoyed it, in a mindless-fun kinda way, tho it's really ridiculous in some scenes, particularly the neverending Matrix-ripoff bullet-time effects during fight scenes (is EVERYBODY now tired of this overused trick? can we PLEASE put it to rest??). There is one scene which was a direct homage to Matrix that was sooo hilarious we were all laughing our asses off (won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it), but aside from that it quickly got tiresome.

Mainly I liked the movie for the dance/song choreography, Amrita, Sush and SRK (I hated Zayed Khan or whatever his name is btw), and some of the better scenes. Besides that it's a typical masala film that rips off from so many Hollywood/HK flicks I lost count (Matrix, Mission Impossible, and even John Woo's movies... check out the pigeons flapping round toward the end and you'll know what I mean lol). I seriously think Farah Khan couldn't think of how to compose the film and chose to "borrow" all these elements to patch something together. I know it's her first film but C'MON... Farah dear, you can be more original than this and I actually have faith you'll get better as a director.

Ok, back to the DVD itself... First off, what kinda BRAIN-DEAD, blind, glue-sniffin IDIOT did they get to master this disc??!? The stupid layer-pauses and total lack of fluid transition between chapters -- make that, total lack OF chapters -- has to be one of the crappiest hack jobs I've ever seen! And unlike some people I wasn't so much bothered by the PQ, which I thought was passably good (considering it is a Hindi DVD, after all). But those track problems are unforgivable.

My friends (most of whom aren't into the technical parts of DVDs like I am) were all like "WTF??" and thought either my player was screwy, or the disc was dirty. I had to yell at em that my player wasn't the prob and the disc was brand-new and spotless lol and then once I noticed what exactly was happening wit the disc, told em and they were like "WHAAA--? You should return it!" Yeah right, like the store would even take it back. Thas one big prob wit some of the Indian stores on Devon St... Even if they took it back, what would I do then? Get another copy of MHN with the EXACT same problem in return? No quality control sux, boys, I tell ya.
