That is my point!! EVEN if we TAKE OUT all MOTION BLURRY pictures out!! Still, this DVD is WAY OFF than what I saw on SCREEN!! But PRINT is STILL CLEAN!! PROBLEM IS TRANSFER TECHNIQUE TO DVD!

We WELCOME other people's IMPRESSIONS too, who r viewing this DVD on BIG SCREEN/HDTV with PROG SCAN DVD PLAYERS, and TRUE DD 5.1 SET UP!! :?:

IMHO, the WORST CRIMINALS are PRODUCERS/DIRECTORS who DONT KNOW WORD of QUALITY, and apni JAEBAEN GARAM KARKE SAALE/SAALIYAN BAJOO HOTE HAEN!!

If MANI RATNAM can tolerate a DVD LIKE YUVA!! then NO HOPE!!

We all know these SECOND HAND CHAMCHA NUMA DIRECTOR/PRODUCER!! They dont know!! What is CINEMA/GOOD CINEMA ABC!! they CHURN MASALA!! MAKE MONEY! and SHOW THEIR BUTT to audience who SUPPORT their SUB PAR PRODUCTS!!

But may be THOSE audience do DESERVE this kinda SHIT DVDS TOO!!

It's surprising and not surprising at the same time. Surprising because surely a lot of Indians have HDTVs and progressive scan players, or at least, large 4:3 screens. Why would they buy these DVDs? Presumably they got the nice TV for an increase in quality. OTOH, Indians are used to nth generation rental VHS tapes, often with banner ads popping up and scrolling phone numbers, so even Yuva will look good compared to that.

Eros refuses to spend the time and effort to do a proper telecine. This why the transfer colors, brightness, white level, black level etc are way off on almost all their dvds.

I didn't realize WalMart got into the marketing of doing 1hr Telecines. Eros is the Greek God of Love. They should change their name to Medusa, as these transfers rear their ugly heads, turning its viewers to stone.

Making of the film
The making of the film showcases how Farah had a basic outline for the film since 1999. “I knew it had to be a campus film. I knew it had to have Shahrukh Khan in it. So the whole thing is how to put him back to college”, says director Farah Khan. The making part covers a complete perspective on the film seen through the eyes of almost every member of the cast and the crew. The detailing of the still camera photography incorporated for the Matrix style action sequences are one of the most striking features covered in the making.

Some interesting factfile on the making

* The cycle-rickshaw action sequence shown in Darjeeling in the film was shot in the Goregaon Filmcity.

* Shahrukh's bullet that pierced through Sushmita's sari in the climax action scene was shot without Sush's knowledge. “The expression on my face is very genuine and I was shocked out of my life”, says Sushmita.

* Shahrukh had to bear Satish Shah's spitting a several number of times as he and Farah couldn't stop laughing hysterically on the sets.

Additional scenes
The DVD features around 6 additional scenes that were deleted from the theatrical version on the editor's table. Of those scenes the notable ones include Shahrukh's entry in the Darjeeling city, Suniel Shetty's verbal confrontation with Zayed Khan in the climax where Zayed is trapped as a hostage and a casual campus scene between Shahrukh, Zayed, Amrita and Lays! Yes, a Lays chips packet! It gets substantial footage in the scene too.

Out takes
Some retakes of the film that resulted out of hilarious goof-ups while shooting also feature on the DVD.
