Actually this is no different to the region one of Catch Me if You Can or Gladiator. The film was about 2.5 hours and had DTS/Dolby option with an addtional 5.1 track in French and 2.0 track in English.
If it looked like Gladiator nobody
would complain.
I wouldn't
complain if it looked like grainy
OCN. But it looks like noisy video.

Name me one recent multi million dollor conglomerate EROS DVD product that matches with any of Ayngaran Products!!!!
I actually prefer the older Ayngaran titles to the newer ones
I have seen. And I prefer some Eros
to Kaka.

You should reserve your battles for quality on EROS, VIDEO-SOUND, GVI and YASH RAJ products who have the $$$ and the audiences yet they still rip us off!!!
They all deserve criticism. Ayngaran needs to be aplauded for
trying to improve. Now if only
they would go from trying to
achieving.
The Kaka DVD is progressive. But
it's not the kind of progressive
that makes sense. What they did is
use an interlaced transfer with 2:3
pulldown and put it interlaced on
the disc! The only difference to
EROS DVDs with 2:3 pulldown is that
they flag the fields that make a
frame in the stream as a frame. So
we get the 30 clicks per second
and a sequence of frames and fields
when stepping through the disc. This helps players that rely on flags only to some extent. But it
does not save bits since it still
encodes 60 fields per second instead of 24 frames! They should
do real progressive and store and
encode every field only once. They
really need all the bits they have
for their DTS and grainy masters.
So, Sunny, what is the best Ayngaran DVD mastered in India
so far concerning image quality?
It's not "Kaka Kaka". Which title
is it in your opinion? Are there
any with real progressive mastering
(48 fields stored per second, output as 24 frames)?
