What happened? They were around as of the middle of 2007, albeit very hard to track down. I spoke to one of their company men (Manju) about the possibility of acquiring and releasing more mythological titles. He was going to India to check out which films their brand should acquire for overseas DVD licensing and distribution. However, the one working number I had for them is no longer is service.

I've had all three DVDs for a while - I think Duniya Meri Jeb Mein was released as BEI only, but I think the other two were released as DEI.

The distributor told me that it's BEI's partner Samrat bought out BEI, hopefully retaining BEI quality and expertise. It's only a financial arrangement ?? The titles that I picked up, Raaj Tilak, Vishwas, Yeh Mohabbat Hai, Nanha Farishta, Karamyogi seem to be available through this new arrangement.

How safe is it to buy a DEI/BEI DVD from Indiaweekly? What are the chances I'd get a silver copy that would freeze up?

Pretty good chances .. I wouldnt pick it up from IW at all. More than likely they are rental discs that are used and probably have had problems so they shrink wrapped it and are reselling it as new after they buffed any scratches on this disc.

Where r u located Dragun? I am in Toronto and know of a store which sells DEI / BEI discs and if any problems they exchange it for me.

BEI Vishwas:
Jeetendra starrer. Kalyanji Annandji's haunting music. Remember these songs:

Aap Se Humko Bichhde Huey Ek Zamaana Beet Gya (BEI telling us ??)

Le Chal, Le Chal Mere Jeevan Saathi, Le Chal Mujhe Us Duniya Mein, Pyar Hi Pyar Ho Jahan, -- Le Chal. (Mukesh & Hem Lata) (My fav song of those times)

And of course this song:
Chaandi Ki Deewar Na Todi, Pyar Bhara Dil Tod Diya (most popular/ famous song from the film)

Beginning Titles show (Playback Singers): Introducing MANHAR.

Isn't the song 'Aaj Ki Raat Sajan Man Chahe' in this film??

Love it!
