It does make a difference.

Consider that if the same material was progressive, a 25% higher bit rate could have been accomodated in the same disc space (as 25% less fields are recorded; they are not needed). This definitely improves the PQ, be it viewed on Interlaced or Progressive se-up.

u know wat... i dont understand all this crap about interlaced discs and non interlaced discs.. as for this Yateem disc, its great to see a quality release after ages.. pity they had to pick Sunny "homo" Deols movie for it!! Anyway ive totally totally given up on Indian DVDs and have vowed never to pay for an Indian DVD ever again.. actually im lying, i might buy some BEI releases (if they release anything half decent) and maybe the Subhash Ghai Shemaroo movies.. other than that my DVD buying days have finished.... Thanks to my nice brand spanking new DVD-writer, i can just borrow DVDs of my friends and jus copy the movies.. seeming how crap the DVDs are nowadays, i can make exact replicas of the disc without the stupid unskippable adverts and stupid B4U advertising... and there is no difference... wooohooo...!!

MY days of saving my money is here!! so thank u for all ure interlaced comments but i hardly care...!!

One more thing, did anyone notice this fact :-
DEI had/has the best trans-literation service when they author their dvds. The essence of the dialogue is presented quite exquisitely !

i don't think there any film in the history of bollywood that deserves a decent high quality featured packed dvd maybe just 1 film SHOLAY !!!

i dont think there enough asian dvd owners who know what the hell progressive pesudo 2:35 1:85 dts anamorphic e.t.c is as long as theres a decent picture and sound no one gives a fuk !!!

if u can get a decent picture & sound by any means possible pirate replica's 2 in 1 e.t.c then so be it !!!

It was an objective fair statement, good for every one, including myself, yaar agar kissi ko uska interlaced pasand hai, let it be, jo pseudo prog per khush hai, uski khushi!!

jiski khushi sirf progressive se hai, let him be happy with that...koii bada nahin hojata, koii chota nahin...so jhagda kaheka!! mere bhaii... :baaa:

Again it was not meant for any one in particular!!

i totally agree with brother asif... no bollywood flick is worthy of a quality DVD.. theyre all crap (with the exception of AB movies :bash:

) i dont really care about all this interlaced crap... All these DVD authorers can carry on making their DVDs for me, piracy and downloading movies is the future.. #### the original releases!!

yeah man !!! who wants to pay these so call originals indian dvd manufacturers full price when we can get it for peanuts and still enjoy the same quality !!!

But, what we pay for a DVD, don't we deserve a compatible to price quality.

DEI/ BEI are the only ones fairly priced around $10. When we pay double the price for all new releases, are we getting double the quality?? Or, are we even getting the same quality that we get out of a DEI/ BEI?? It doesn't cost any extra to make a proper DVD. Learning does.

I agree with you rana!! DEI/BEI is Quality is UNSURPASED for $10...and we should patronize them, asking for their stuff particularly!!

I feel sorry! that we buy 2 in one for YRF for $10 and for DEI/BEI for $10 and feel GOOD!!

If some people feel their money JUSTIFIED in that? I dont have their prob!!

as far my self, I dont buy, any new YRF/EROS/SPARK/VS etc dvds!! I did buy DEVDAS!! Just for HISTORY! sake!!

But not buying DEI/BEI quality original stuff.at extremely reasonable price!...is beyond my comprehension..but I dont make decision for people!!

I will just like to REQUEST all Guys here who appreciate GOOD QUALITY to PATRONIZE DEI/BEI by buying their ORIGINAL stuff!!

Rest it is upto u guys??? Time to THINK!

I am not PRO HINDI DVDS! IMHO, we get S* in name of HINDI DVDS! period, almost all the time!! :baaa:

BTW, unlike yourself, I still haven't bought DEVDAS, even for History sake. For that quality (Devdas), I'm not willing to pay more than $10 (US). I hope their next Devdas release is Progressive and then will I consider buying Devdas.

Any chance of Un-official Devdas in Un-official AALC quality??

Guyz just a few observations here.

1.) I received the DVD from you-know-where

. However It doesnt have any inlay card. Have any of you guys faced a similar situation ?

2.) On the Disc it says, "Made in Singapore" .. What does this imply ?

Just so that u are saved from pirated/replicated versions.. notice on the rim of the disc

"BO-1119-YATEEM-LO &B0-1119-YATEEM-L1 (in flipped letters)"
030212-090614 (and the same number flipped)

This is a dual layered disc, (and from the shine on it, looks like a Gold media disc).

As Ali has pointed out the (in)famous DEI EE problem still remains, In addition to that we have the problem of excessive color saturation... In some scenes the sky appears "purple-pink" instead of "blue"

And finally... expect a couple of great releases in the following weeks from BEI !

Maybe BEI got the disc replicated in Singapore?
