Was it a 4 or a 6 track stereo track? I've seen different sources say different things on this.

I am trying to find my copy of the original LP (Vinyl) Record of Sholay which if I remember had a banner running accross the cover "70MM - Tracks". I just can't remember exactly how many tracks it was, although it was definately not less than 4 channels but I don't think it was not 6 tracks. I'll confirm once I find the LP.
70mm comes with 6 tracks (magnetic). It is very unlikely that 4 tracks were used. Although I have yet to watch it the way it was intended. Sholay can be transferred to DD or DTS but the original sound tracks are uncompatible with existing sound formats. This because 6 track magnetic has left, mid left, center, mid right, right and 1 mono surround channel. Of course the information for mid left and mid right can be mixed into center for today's digital formats but you will never be able to hear the original mix again unless you watch it in a 70mm theatre.
I am very unhappy with the situation of Indian dvds so a Sholay dvd rumour better be a rumour.Pathetic, if you ask me actually. The most loved Indian movie is not even worth buying on dvd.
I have a question though if Eros's rights end, can't Eros extend it? I mean why would they allow another dvd company to acquire it?
