Are you guys sure this is not a pirate? Because I cannot find anything about this release on the i-net. :(

If it is an original release, and the one Sunny meant, then I'm quite disappointed. The PQ could be better.

I like this film sooooo much, but if I'll wait for a DVD release with a quality I can be happy with, then I probably will never be able to buy a Dil Chahta Hai DVD.

I thought I post the cover of the DCH dvd by Sony Music since it's confusing a lot of people. I can't get it on the internet except for Indiatimes website. If anyone's wants a scan, please request...bandha haazir hai...

Is this the best copy of Dil Chahta Hai on DVD? How is the picture transfer and sound?

Thank you, Congress-ji for the cover. :)

I also wanna know which one is better. Can somebody who has seen both DVD's tell me that? :(
This is my favorite movie and still I haven't got it on DVD, because everyone says that the Spark version freezes and that there is not much difference between that one and this Sony version.

My spark dvd died on me so I had my in-law get this one from India. Video wise you can judge yourself in this thread (courtesy shuman)

http://www.zulm.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4767&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45

Suffers from compression problems and source print is not that great. I prefer the Spark version any day. But I had to get this version, I love this movie too much. Sound is quite good featured in DD.5.1, even has a DD trailer.

Overall this Sony version has a more extensive special featues dvd but it's a pity about the video.

My advise, get the spark version and make a back up dvd in case it starts to rot.

looks like Spark released another version of DCH. its a different cover now at nehaflix, and it says its a single disc. But still don't know how the media is.

i just got the single disk version from spark. i did a quick comparison between this new one and the older two-disk edition and the older two-disk edition has a better pic quality. i'll try to get some screenshots if no one else can do the same (my comp is old and slow...). the new version i have is the one selling at nehaflix.

this is a different cover from the one nehaflix was selling earlier, but i think its the same disc. I have the one with the red cover, which nehaflix used to have. i bought it from a local store. the quality, as u said, is not that good. there's a lot of pixelation in some scenes. but, it hasn't froze yet, so i guess its ok. i wish someone like columbia tristar or at least BEI authored this dvd, this film surely deserves better.

I finally picked DCH by Sony Entertainment while in India last month. I was soo sick of my Spark DVD freezing. The nice thing is the Sony DCH DVD was only about $10 USD.

As mentioned in the One 2 Ka 4 thread, Elite have re-issued disc one from Spark's original two-disc DVD release of Dil Chahta Hai. Hopefully the Elite disc won't have the same freezing problems . Here's a screenshot comparison of the Elite DVD (top) and Spark's single disc re-issue (bottom) of DCH...

I got my copy from India Weekly. It's listed on their site as the Spark DVD, but it seems to just be the Elite version they're actually stocking.
