Anyone able to figure out who the authoring company is for the Blu-Ray DVD?
(will be interesting to see if it is an Indian company or a US based authoring company).

If things hadn't gone sour between DEI & EROS way back when.. I'm sure DEI would be doing the Blu-Ray DVD :D

Have to say, judging by the high quality of the recent 5 to 10 DVDs released by Eros, I see no reason why this blu-ray disc shouldn't be any good. Am I the only optimist here?

Let's hope they gave the compression to some shop that has experience from lots of Western HD titles. And the HD looks as good as the 35mm prints (e.g. ok). Then we have actually a reason to buy this. :)

I recently watched Speed from Eros (on the cover it says “Mastered in High Definition”).
Although I do not watch that many Hindi DVDs as to give object comparison, I still give props to this as it looked better than anything I have seen from EROS. It looked sharp and detailed: I was pleasantly surprised as I was not expecting this from EROS.
Only negative that I can see with this DVD is the Color palette which I thought looked a bit muted or processed.
I just preordered the OM SHANTI ON blu-ray. May be we are in for a surprise.

Hmmm - just read this - it was posted y'day:

http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthr ... ood&page=2

"... Over the weekend, we received a note from Eros asking us to pull down the news story and the title page. Although we had confirmed the release with an Eros staffer last week, the distributor now says 'Om Shanti Om' is *not* scheduled for Blu-ray release. I guess we'll find out for sure in a few weeks..."

So looks like no BD for OSO and Saawariya will be the first Indian BD. I was thinking that it's strange that there was no buzz on Eros' web-site about going Blu-ray and also noticed that the cover story had been removed from Highdefdigest. Anyway - Amazon still has it up for pre-order but Amazon has a lot of stuff for pre-order that doesn't always make it to the shelves. Also could be a case of Eros not really knowing what is going on - or perhaps they want to sell a stack load of SD DVDs and then go Blu Ray or perhaps they were going to go Blu Ray but found the costs to be too much? Who knows!
