i bought a bombino release of aks -- was bombino i think -- returned it -- mono sound disguised as dolby digital, and movie was cut -- pls note that aks was a longer movie when released and later was cut down -- especially the climax of the later version has several scenes missing -and- the interval in the two versions happen at different points...

I remember when I watched Aks at 2004's "Walter Reade Theater 'Amitabh Bachchan Tribute'"; the "Jab Tak Ram Hai" song was missing, as well as a few other scenes. Altogether, about twenty minutes of the film were cut. Man, I was so hoping for a "full" experience.

Lol. I agree that it drags towards the end. The climax could have been dealt with better. Often, films seem to falter in rushing through resolutions, but Aks almost dwelt endlessly. All in all, though, it's a great film with a great performance given by Amitabh Bachchan.

Although I think this movie, Aks, sucks simply because AB is there and RDB rocks for all the right reasons. Still I thought I mention this that according to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra he is going to release the director's cut of Aks in 6 months time. Now let's see if he's true to his word.

And RDB dvd will also have director's commentary just like bluffmaster dvd...
